Weather realised during past 24 hours ending at 0830 hours IST of 01.07.2026:
• Rainfall occurred at most places over South Gujarat region, at a few places over Saurashtra; at isolated
places over North Gujarat region; weather was dry over Kutch.
• Extremely heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Daman.
• Very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in the district of South Gujarat region namely Valsad &
Daman
• Heavy rainfall occurred at a few places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Navsari, Valsad &
Surat; at isolated places in Amreli district of Saurashtra.
• Maximum temperatures fall appreciably in parts over Gujarat region, no large change in rest of the region.
• Maximum temperatures were above normal to appreciably above normal in parts over North Gujarat
region, and Saurashtra-Kutch; normal over rest of the region.
• 40.1 Deg. C. was the highest maximum temperature in the region recorded at Ahmedabad.

Synoptic Situation:

• The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, entire
Daman & Diu, some more parts of Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh, remaining parts of Uttarakhand,
Himachal Pradesh & Ladakh, entire Jammu-Kashmir, and some parts of Haryana & Punjab, today the 01st
July, 2026.
• The Northern Limit of Monsoon passes through 22°N/60°E, 22°N/65°E, Porbandar, Vallabh Vidyanagar,
Shajapur, Naugaon, Mirzapur, Azamgarh, Ayodhya, Budaun, Meerut, Karnal, Gurdaspur and 32.8°N/73°E
as on 01st July.
• Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of North Arabian
Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi & Punjab, and some parts of
Rajasthan during next 2 days.
• The seasonal trough at mean sea level from Punjab to north Bay of Bengal extending upto 0.9 km above
mean sea level persists.
• The off-shore trough at mean sea level now runs from south Gujarat to Karnataka.
• A fresh Western Disturbance seen as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean
sea level runs roughly along Long. 58°E to the north of Lat. 32°N.

• The upper air cyclonic circulation over north Bay of Bengal adjoining south Bangladesh persists and
extends between 1.5 & 7.6 km above mean sea level titling southwestwards with height. Under its influence,
a Low-Pressure Area is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood around 3rd July,
2026.
• A trough runs from the above upper air cyclonic circulation over north Bay of Bengal adjoining south
Bangladesh to Northeast Arabian Sea across south Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, north
Maharashtra and Gujarat between 4.5 and 7.6 km above mean sea level.
• An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Saurashtra & neighbourhood between 3.1 & 5.8 km above mean
sea level titling southwards with height.
• Yesterday’s trough from south central Madhya Pradesh to Eastcentral Arabian Sea across Marathwada,
Madhya Maharashtra & Konkan & Goa between 4.5 & 5.8 km above mean sea level has become less marked.

• Yesterday’s trough in middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 4.5 km above mean sea level roughly
along Long 86°E to the north of Lat 25°N has become less marked.
• South-westerly to Westerly winds are prevailing at lower levels over the region.
