Good morning everyone. Today I am going to present my topic, “Treating Women,
Children and Vulnerable Groups with Rights and Dignity.” My name is Jemeel Fathima
Siha. Let’s begin.

Development is not only economic growth. It also means equality, justice and human
rights. A developed society protects vulnerable people.
Slide 3
Vulnerable groups include women, children, elderly people, persons with disabilities,
poor communities and minorities. They need equal rights and protection.
Slide 4
There are three important theories: Human Development Theory, Rights-Based
Approach and Gender and Development. These help improve people’s lives and protect
their rights.
Slide 5
In Sri Lanka, free education, child protection services, the Domestic Violence Act and
support for women entrepreneurs are good examples. However, some challenges still
remain.
Slide 6
Protecting vulnerable groups improves health, education, economic development and
social justice. It also supports the Sustainable Development Goals.

We should strengthen laws, raise awareness, empower women and improve services
for vulnerable groups.

In conclusion, every person deserves equal rights, respect and dignity. Thank you for
