Abstract
This study investigates the effectiveness of heterogeneous exercises in improving English
language skills among weak second-year learners, with a particular focus on speaking
ability. It examines how a variety of classroom activities, including speaking tasks,
vocabulary work, grammar practice, reading comprehension, and collaborative exercises,
can enhance learners’ motivation and performance.
A mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantitative) was used through tests,
questionnaires, and classroom observations. The findings reveal that heterogeneous
exercises significantly improve learners’ language skills, increase their confidence, and
encourage greater classroom participation. The study concludes that heterogeneous
exercises are an effective strategy for supporting weak learners in improving their
English proficiency.
