On behalf of the Training Team, welcome to the Luna District Training Workshop on the Alignment of
Classroom and National Assessments. Today’s activity aims to strengthen our shared commitment to quality
and standards-based education.
To formally begin, may I request everyone to settle down.

Before we proceed, here are a few reminders:
This Group will be divided into two Classes (Approximately 45 participants for each Class.)
The usual Grouping is Class B are combinations of Key stage 2 and 3 (Grade V to Senior High School teachers)
Class A are Key Stage I Teachers
Note: After the plenary Sessions this morning, Please proceed to your respective Classrooms
Please observe proper decorum throughout the training.

j. First Plenary Session
We now proceed to the First Plenary Session, which focuses on one of the most essential foundations of
effective teaching—the Principles of Assessment Literacy.
This session focuses on enhancing the capacity of teachers and education personnel in developing high-
quality classroom assessment items that are aligned with the standards, structure, and formats of national
and international large-scale assessments.
It also aims to promote consistency and uniformity in assessment practices, ensuring that classroom-based
assessments effectively prepare learners for national and global measures of learning outcomes.
To guide us through this important topic, we are honored to have with us a competent and dedicated
educator.

Focus of Session 2
This session focuses on revisiting the legal foundations that govern both national and classroom
assessments to ensure compliance with existing policies and standards.
It will guide participants in identifying and understanding the different types of national and classroom
assessments, as well as distinguishing their purposes, scope, and applications.
Moreover, the session emphasizes the importance of aligning classroom assessments with national
assessments, highlighting how such alignment ensures consistency, accuracy in measuring learning
outcomes, and improved learner preparedness for large-scale evaluations.
