Religious Rites and

Rituals
Presented by: Sofia Orenia
and Camille Cueva
Introduction
The Philippines is a country with a rich cultural and religious
heritage. It is predominantly Christian, with the majority of
the population being Roman Catholic. However, there are
also significant Muslim, Indigenous, and other religious
communities in the country. The religious rites and rituals in
the Philippines vary depending on the specific religious
beliefs and practices followed by different groups. Here are
some examples:

Eucharist is celebrated.

Orders, Anointing of the Sick, and Reconciliation (Confession).

poured on their head to show that that person has become a

to each other and to God for the sake of the salvation of their own

souls and to help share in Christ’s mission in the world.

spirits and deities, often involving offerings, dances, and
music.

spirits and seek their guidance and blessings.

Philippines have their own unique rituals and practices,
such as the T'boli's T'nalak weaving rituals and the
Ifugao's Hudhud chants during the rice planting season.

4. Other Religions:
Buddhism: Meditation, chanting, and observance of
Buddhist festivals.
Hinduism: Worship of Hindu deities, such as Ganesha
and Lakshmi, and celebration of festivals like Diwali.
