• It provides more flexible way to design web pages along with the text.
• Links can be also added to the web pages. It helps the readers to browse
the information of their interest.
• You can display HTML documents on any platforms such
as Windows,
Linux etc.
• Graphics, videos and sounds can also be added to the web pages which give an
extra attractive look to the web pages.
CSS: Cascading Style Sheets is a style sheet language used to describe presentation and
layout of HTML tags. It controls the presentation aspect of the site and allows site to have its
own unique look. It does this by maintaining style sheets, which sit top on other styles rules
and are triggered based on other inputs, such as device screen size and resolution. Features
of CSS:
Easily maintainable: If you are intended to make any global change, simply change the
styling and you can see all other elements in all other webpagesgetting automatically updated.
CSS is time-saving: You can write the script once and reuse the same sheets as much time as
you want.
Superior styles to native front end: CSS have completely a wider array of attributes and list if
compared to HTML. Therefore, HTML page can have a brighter look and feel if compared to
the normal HTML attributes.
Ease with Search Engines: CSS is considered as a very convenient and an easy way to read
styling sheet. This means, that the search engines don’t have to put in a lot of efforts in trying to
read the text.
Efficient cache storing: CSS can be used to store the web applications locally with the help of
offline cache mechanisms which can be used to view the offline websites.
JavaScript: JavaScript is a versatile programming language that has evolved over the years,
providing developers with a wide range of features and capabilities.
Features of JavaScript:
Event-Driven Programming: JavaScript is commonly used for building interactive web
applications, and it has extensive support for event-driven programming. You can attach event
handlers to HTML elements and respond to various user actions such as mouse clicks, key
presses, and form submissions.
Modules: Modern JavaScript (ES6 and later) supports modules, which provide a way to
organize and reuse code. Modules allow you to define private and public members, making
your code more modular, maintainable, and shareable.
DOM Manipulation: JavaScript can manipulate the Document Object Model (DOM) of a web
page, allowing you to dynamically modify its content, structure, and styles. This enables you
to create interactive and responsive user interfaces.
10I
Error Handling: JavaScript provides try/catch blocks for handling exceptions and errors. You
can catch and handle exceptions gracefully, preventing your program from crashing and
allowing for proper error recovery.
PHP: PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) is a popular scripting language primarily used for web
development.
Cross-platform compatibility: PHP is a cross-platform language, which means it can run on
various operating systems such as windows, mac OS, Linux, and Unix. It is compatible with
all major web servers like Apache and Microsoft IIS.
Database support: PHP has extensive support for databases. It offers built-in extensions to
connect to various databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQLite, and more. This
allows developers to easily interact with databases and perform tasks like data retrieval,
insertion, deletion, and modification.
Scalability and Performance: PHP can handle high traffic websites and scalable applications.
With various caching mechanisms, opcode caches (such as APC or
OP cache), and optimization techniques, PHP can deliver fast and efficient performance.
Integration capabilities: PHP can integrate with other technologies and services easily. It
supports various protocols like HTTP, FTP, IMAP, and XML, making it suitable for web
services, email handling, and parsing XML data. It can also interact with external APIs to

5. Feasibility Study
Feasibility study includes consideration of all the possible ways to provide a solution to
the problem. The proposed solution should satisfy all the user requirements and should be
flexible enough so that future changes can be easily based on the future upcoming requirements.
There are aspects in the feasibility study portion of the preliminary investigation:
• Technical Feasibility
• Operation Feasibility
• Economic Feasibility
13I
the current workflow of project management by providing easy access to project ideas, resources,
and feedback, which is essential for both students and faculty.
For students, it simplifies the process of finding project ideas and receiving peer and
faculty feedback. For faculty, it provides a tool to monitor project progress and offer guidance
efficiently. Additionally, the platform’s intuitive interface ensures minimal training is required for
users to begin interacting with the system. The success of the platform depends on its ease of use,
functionality, and proper integration into academic curricula, all of which are achievable with
appropriate design and development practices.
6. SYSTEM DESIGN
6.1 UMLDiagram:
The Unified Modeling Language (UML) is a standard language for specifying,
visualizing, constructing, and documenting the artifacts of software systems, as well as for
business modeling and other non-software systems. The UML represents a collection of best
engineering practices that have proven.
Successful in the modeling of large and complex systems. The UML is a very important
part of developing Objects Oriented software and the software development process. The UML
uses mostly graphical notations to express the design of software projects. Using the UML
14I
helps project teams communicate, and validate the architectural design of the software. System
design refers to the process of defining the architecture, components, modules, interfaces, and
data for a system to satisfy specified requirements which can be done easily through UML
diagrams.
Contents of UML:
In general, a UML diagram consists of the following features:
Entities:
These may be classes, objects, uses or system behaviors.
Relationship lines that model the relationship between entities in the system.
Generalization:
A solid line with an arrow that points to a higher abstraction of the present item.
Association:
A solid line that represents that one entity uses another entity as part of its behavior.
Dependency:
A dotted line with an arrowhead that shows one entity depends on the behavior of another
entity.
2) Sequence Diagram
A use case is a methodology used in system analysis to identify, clarify, and organize
system requirements. The use case is made up of a set of possible sequences of interactions
between systems and users in a particular environment and related to a particular goal. It
consists of a group of elements (for example, classes and interfaces) that can be used together
in a way that will have an effect larger than the sum of the separate elements combined. The
use case should contain all system activities that have significance to the users. A use case can
15I
be thought of as a collection of possible scenarios related to a particular goal, indeed, the use
case and goal are sometimes considered to be synonymous.
The main purpose of a use case diagram is to show what system functions are
performed for which actor. Roles of the actors in the system can be depicted.
A use case describes a sequence of actions that provide something of measurable value to an
actor and is drawn as a horizontal ellipse.
Actors:
An actor is a person, organization, or external system that plays a role in one or more
interactions with the system.
Include:
In one form of interaction, a given use case may include another. "Include is a
Directed Relationship between two use cases, implying that the behaviour of the included use
case is inserted into the behaviour of the including use case”.
16I
17I
2. Sequence Diagram:
A sequence diagram in Unified Modelling Language (UML) is a kind of interaction
diagram that shows how processes operate with one another and in what order. It is a
construct of a Message Sequence Chart. A Sequence diagram depicts the sequence of actions
that occur in a system. The invocation of methods in each object, and the order in which the
invocation occurs is captured in a Sequence diagram. This makes the Sequence diagram a
very useful tool to easily represent the dynamic behaviour of a system.
The sequence diagram is an element that is used primarily to showcase the interaction
that occurs between multiple objects. This interaction will be shown over certain period of
time. Because of this, the first symbol that is used is one that symbolizes the object.
Lifeline:
A lifeline will generally be generated, and it is a dashed line that sits vertically, and the
top will be in the form of a rectangle. This rectangle is used to indicate both the instance and
the class. If the lifeline must be used to denote an object, it will be underlined.
Messages:
To showcase an interaction, messages will be used. These messages will come in the
form of horizontal arrows, and the messages should be written on top of the arrows. If the
arrow has a full head, and it’s solid, it will be called a synchronous call. If the solid arrow has
a stick head, it will be an asynchronous call. Stick heads with dash arrows are used to
represent return messages.

10. TESTING
When developing the Projects Idea Provider using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, it is
essential to conduct various types of testing to ensure its functionality, reliability, and security.
Here are some types of testing that can be performed on the system:
Unit Testing:
Focus on testing individual functions in JavaScript and PHP, like those managing project
submissions, user ratings, and feedback processing. Each function should be checked to ensure it
performs as expected, such as properly saving project details or updating ratings. Frameworks
like PHPUnit for PHP and Jest for JavaScript can help automate these tests. Integration
Testing:
This step ensures smooth communication between the front-end (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
and back-end (PHP) components. Testing might involve checking interactions between modules,
such as how project details flow from user submissions on the front-end to storage in the
database, and retrieving project ratings to display correctly. Integration testing confirms that data
flows seamlessly across all connected components. System Testing:
System testing covers all major functions of the Project Ideas Provider, such as user
registration, login, project proposal submission, rating and review functionality, and
categorybased browsing. Test cases should check both expected and edge cases to confirm that
the platform meets all requirements, ensuring features like login security, smooth project
uploading, and accessible project categorization.
Usability Testing:
Evaluate how intuitive and user-friendly the interface is by observing users as they
navigate through processes like searching for projects, submitting ideas, or rating projects. This
feedback helps identify any UI issues, enabling you to make improvements for a more
streamlined experience.
76
leveraged to provide personalized feedback on project feasibility, helping students refine their ideas.
Additionally, integrating Natural Language Processing (NLP) can allow the system to analyze
project proposals and suggest improvements, enhancing the quality of submissions.
The development of a mobile application is also a crucial step for future scalability. A mobile
version of the platform would make it more accessible, allowing users to interact with the platform
on the go. Features like notifications for feedback, new project ideas, and updates would help keep
users engaged and responsive, enhancing the overall user experience. A mobile app would especially
benefit students and faculty members with busy schedules, offering them flexibility and
convenience.
Additionally, the platform can grow by integrating with industry experts and providing
opportunities for mentorship and collaboration with professionals. Industry involvement can help
bridge the gap between academia and real-world applications, enabling students to work on projects
that have practical value. It could also open avenues for project sponsorship and funding, as
companies may invest in promising ideas that align with their business goals.
12. CONCLUSION:
In conclusion, the Projects Idea Provider platform is a versatile and innovative solution
designed to revolutionize academic project management. By providing a centralized repository for
project ideas, fostering collaboration, and integrating course-specific resources, it enhances the
77
overall experience for students and faculty. The platform's future potential is vast, with
opportunities to integrate advanced technologies like AI, expand globally, and encourage
crossdisciplinary collaboration. Its ability to connect academia with industry professionals and
provide real-world relevance makes it a valuable tool for nurturing innovation and continuous
learning. Ultimately, the platform is poised to become a cornerstone of academic project
development, driving creativity, efficiency, and collaboration in educational institutions.
