7. Prerequisites (Qualifications & Skills)
To qualify for this role in the Software Engineer/Developer domain, you need a strong
foundation in Computer Science fundamentals and practical software development skills.

Required Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals using languages such as C/C++, Java,

or Python, including object-oriented concepts and clean coding practices.
• Solid knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), including common data
structures, algorithm design techniques, and time/space complexity analysis.
• Basic understanding of operating systems concepts, including processes, threads, memory
management, and concurrency fundamentals.
• Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and hands-on experience with
coding, debugging, testing, and maintaining applications
• Working knowledge of version control systems, especially Git, along with collaborative
development workflows.
• Basic knowledge of databases and data handling, including SQL fundamentals and an
understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Awareness of system design and software architecture basics, including modular design,
APIs, scalability considerations, and performance optimization.

8. Location:
Usually onsite/CoE established at College/University (requires lab access for usage of
components/boards), any company division across in INDIA

9. Experience Level:0–2 years (Entry-level/Junior).

10. Job Role (Responsibilities):

As a Software Developer, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from
design and implementation to deployment and maintenance of scalable applications.

Application Development: Designing, developing, and maintaining software applications using

appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and tools based on project requirements.

System Design & Implementation: Collaborating with architects and senior engineers to translate
functional requirements into modular, efficient, and maintainable software designs.

Page 2
API & Backend Development: Building and integrating RESTful APIs or backend services to support
frontend applications and external system integrations.

Testing & Debugging: Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving software defects through unit testing,
integration testing, and systematic debugging practices.

Performance Optimization: Optimizing application performance, memory usage, and responsiveness

to ensure reliability, scalability, and efficient resource utilization.

Collaboration & Code Review: Working closely with cross-functional teams, participating in code
reviews, and following version control and collaborative development best practices.

Documentation: Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including design specifications,

API documentation, and user or developer guides.

11. Onboarding
Onboarding in a semiconductor firm is often more rigorous than in standard IT roles due to the
high cost of chip manufacturing.

Technical Induction/Free of Cost Training: A 4-6 months deep-dive into the company’s proprietary
AI-Embedded Architecture and internal software development toolchains and engineering workflows
under the PIE(Performance in Evaluation) model, during which three assessments will be given out
of which it is mandatory to clear two assessments.

NDA & IP Protection: Strict legal agreements regarding Intellectual Property (IP); you will be
working on designs that are often 2–3 years away from hitting the Research market .

Mentorship Period: You will typically be assigned a "Buddy" or "Mentor" (Senior Design Engineer)
for the first 6 months to oversee your code commits.

Probationary Project: Completion of a "Pilot Project" such as developing a driver for a new
sensor interface to demonstrate competency.

The Industry Reality: In the VLSI domain, a mistake in your AI-Embedded code can sometimes be
fixed with a software patch, but a mistake in how that code interacts with the hardware logic might
require a multi-million dollar "re-spin" of the chip. This is why accuracy and attention to detail are the
most valued soft skills in this JD.

Note:
Job roles and responsibilities are not limited to above specifications; the roles vary as per the
company requirement and demand of client. The candidate should be flexible to adapt as per

The stated CTC applies only to candidates who clear all eligibility rounds and criteria in
Annexure-I which will be given during Joining. If you are a referred/recommended candidate or
applied via off-campus recruitment process or through internship model, you will be entering VLSI
Technology as an intern under PIE model (Performance In Evaluation).

12. Interview Process

Round 1: Written Test (Aptitude & Fundamentals)

Mode: Offline
Duration: 30 minutes
Objective:
To evaluate the candidate’s core fundamentals, analytical ability, and basic technical
knowledge.

Round 2: Open-book Coding Test (Hands-on Programming)

Mode: Offline
Requirement: Candidates must carry their own laptop
Duration: 45 minutes
Objective:
To assess practical coding skills, problem-solving approach, and code quality.

Round 3: Face-to-Face Technical + Domain Allocation (Based on marks of Round-1 and

Performance in Round-2)
