1 ROUTE (HITCH):
Description:
VS. FREE ACCESS – accelerate on a vertical release to a 4 step depth.
Punch the 4th step and pivot to the 5th (3 Big, Punch & Pivot). Be a
stationary target for the QB, do not drift from the ball. Keep head
and shoulders upfield.

Adjustments:
VS. PRESS – Fade 6 YDS

VS. CLOUD – Fade

2 ROUTE (SLANT):
Description:
VS. FREE ACCESS – accelerate on a vertical release to a 3 step depth.
Finish the angle at 45 degrees. Run under control in order to be able
to adjust to a back hip throw. Cross the face of an inside technique
corner.
VS. TOUGH CORNER – attack the outside leverage of the defender
and work back inside with an angle to protect the throw.
* QK 2 – 1 step slant.�Adjustments: 5 YDS
Run it route; stays on vs. all corner alignments. (3 STEPS)

QUICK 3 (QUICK OUT):
Description:
VS. FREE ACCESS – accelerate on a vertical release to a 4 step depth.
Pressure the 4th step and speed cut out getting lateral separation.
Snap the head around quickly and get the chin back on the ball. Push
the opposite shoulder through.

VS. PRESS – Fade (4 STEPS)

3 ROUTE (OUT):
Description:
VS. FREE ACCESS – accelerate on a vertical release to a 6 step depth.
Keep foot strike consistent. Pressure the 6th step and speed cut out
getting lateral separation. Snap the head around quickly and get the
12 YDS
chin back on the ball. Push the opposite shoulder through. (6 STEPS)
(Possibly a slight outside angle)

Adjustments:
VS. PRESS – Fade
VS. CLOUD – Fade

4 ROUTE (IN):
20 YDS
Description:
VS. FREE ACCESS – accelerate on a vertical release push depth to 18
yards. Roll out of break shaving it to 20 yards and work to the first
window under control. Stay friendly and move back to the ball in the
air.
VS. PRESS – seam release get vertical, may have to take some off the
depth based on timing. Quarter turn head to create a slight outside
fake and maintain your speed throughout the cut to create separation.
VS. CLOUD – widen the corner on your release then push for vertical
depth. Finish expecting the ball wide.

Adjustments:
Run it route; stays on vs. all corner alignments. Run away vs. Man.
BASE

5 ROUTE (COMEBACK):
Description:
VS. FREE ACCESS – accelerate off the ball vertically to close the 18 YDS
cushion. At an 18 yard depth come out of the break by changing
direction without stopping your feet. Sell the 9 route. Come back to
the LOS on a separation angle for the QB.
VS. PRESS – sell the vertical route before separation (Can shorten to
15) This is not a stop and gather route. Keep moving on the top of
the route. Come back to LOS.

Adjustments:
VS. CLOUD – Seam 7
VS. 2MAN – Flat finish 7

6 ROUTE (HOOK):
Description:
VS. FREE ACCESS – accelerate on a vertical release to a 12 yard
depth. Redirect your hips and return to the QB on a hard angle.
Versus a snug inside technique at the top of the break return down
the stem away from pressure. 12 YDS
VS. PRESS – finish on the move back to the QB.
VS. CLOUD – widen the corner on your release.

Adjustments:
Run it route; stays on vs. all corner alignments.

7 ROUTE (DEEP OUT): HIGH
COV 2

Description:
VS. FREE ACCESS – seam release to a vertical path of 15 yards (4th
inside step). Stick the top of the route and finish like a 3. Speed cut
15 YDS
and get lateral separation.
VS. PRESS – seam release and finish flat or on a high angle depending
on corners position. Only run a high angle if you “lose” the defender.
When taking high angle give the QB an indicator with a slight quarter
turn of your head inside and stick foot in the ground while accelerating
to the back pylon.
VS. CLOUD – roll finish on an angle from 15-22 yards.

Adjustments:
Run it route; stays on vs. all corner alignments. Run away vs. Man.
Finish based on the corner position.

8 ROUTE (BANG 8):
Description:
VS. FREE ACCESS – accelerate off the ball vertically for 7 steps (12
yards). Use great vertical push to get the defender out of his back
pedal and flip his hips. Versus inside technique stay vertical and
cross the defenders face. Trust that your vertical demeanor will
bring the defender to you. Ideally your inside shoulder will end up
on the defenders outside shoulder. Be prepared to flatten to the
throw.

Adjustments:
VS. PRESS – Run it.
VS. CLOUD – Fade

ACTION 8:
Description:
True Post Route. Vertical release to 15 yard depth. Near foot/
shoulder hint and finish at the near upright (hash).
VS. PRESS – prefer an inside release, keep the angle high at the
finish.
In the Red Zone still get your depth now a flatter finish.

9 ROUTE (STREAK):
Description:
Accelerate to close the cushion on the corner. Run the corner down-
an outside finish is preferred. If the corner maintains a wide
relationship, stick him and finish inside. Work your hips in front to
stack the DB. Do not fool the QB by double working the route. Leave
room in the box on an outside finish. Stay vertical.

Adjustments:
Run it route; stays on vs. all corner alignments.

0 ROUTE (SHALLOW):
Description:
Crossing route to a depth of 6 yards.
VS. ZONE – read drop of LB’ers. Do what you see in front of you - if a
defender is waiting on the other side, choke it down but keep on the
move.
VS. MAN – run away, you may have to stairstep to gain separation.

Adjustments:
Run it route; stays on vs. all corner alignments.
4-6 YDS

Description:
2 step route upfield. Speed out and accelerate to get lateral
separation. Stay on the move.

INSIDE (F) POST:
Description:
Angle of entry into the defense is at 6 yds. deep on an angle selling
the seam route. Hold the finish in the seam as the flat defender
expands. If confronted take an angle to cross the defenders face
unless he is so far inside that you must beat him with speed over the
top.

Adjustments:
Run it route; stays on vs. any coverage. The angle adjusts based on
the defenders position.

INSIDE 8:
MFO
Description:
MFO – vertical release and give QB indicator at 12-14 yard depth.
Keep the post angle high on the far side of the hash inside the Cover
2 Safety. Let the ball determine your angle side.
MFC – run an inside 4 route. Vs. zone under control vs. man run MFC
away. Treat Quarters as MFC.

Adjustments:
MFO – run post.
MFC – run inside 4.
WR ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS

CROSSING 8:
Description:
Get across the field with speed at an aiming point of 2 yards on the
far side of the middle safety. Cross a middle field safety’s face. Vs.
Two Safety split the Safeties.

Adjustments:
Run it route; stays on vs. all corner alignments.

INSIDE 6:
Description:
Inside angle release to a depth of 8-10 yards depending on the play
called. Sit down and uncover in zone. Run away vs. man bump and
run.

Adjustments:
VS. MAN – run away.

ACTION 6:
Description:
Vertical release to a depth of 15 yards. Redirect your hips and work
back to the QB. Vs. inside snug corner retrace your footsteps down
the stem and let the ball bring you away from the defender.

6 ROUTE PUMP:
Description:
Accelerate vertically to a depth of 12 yards. Drop weight and
reaccelerate to a go route. Sell the break with your head and
shoulders. Work for outside leverage position- avoid the collision by
the corner. Fade vs. Cover 2 and 6 route stays on vs. free access.

Adjustments:
VS. PRESS – Stutter move (pump) only.
VS. FREE ACCESS – run normal 6 route.
VS. CLOUD – run fade.

SEAM 4:
Description:
Seam release and push vertical to a depth of 18 yards. Roll out of the 18 YDS
break and continue inside. Expect the ball early.
VS. MAN – run away and separate with speed. Stay friendly. Get
your head around quickly at the top of the break. Expect the ball.

Run it route; stays on vs. all corner alignments.

Description:
Seam release and push vertical to a depth of 14 yards. Roll out of the
break and continue inside. Expect the ball early.

7 STOP:
Description:
Outside release from a slot position. Push vertically to a depth of 10
yards. Burst to an angle for a 15 yd spot on the inside edge of the
numbers. Punch and pivot to the QB. Work back to the ball in the
air.

Run it route; stays on vs. all coverages.

7 PUMP:
Description:
Outside release in slot position or a vertical release from perimeter.
Push to a 15 yard depth and flat break a 7 cut. Sell the out move and
turn it upfield. Avoid the collision.
If outside 7 pump the landmark throw is between #’s and sideline. If
nasty split 7 pump, the landmark throw is up the #’s.

Adjustments:
Fade vs. Cov. 2

SLUGGO (SLANT AND GO):
Description:
Run slant course – 3 step vertical route and sell hard inside move.
Redirect hips and run a go course. Move from the safety.
VS. FREE ACCESS – take 3 steps inside max.
VS. WALL CORNER – make a significant hint inside (may only need
one step) before upfield acceleration.

7 SHAKE:
Description:
Align on the outside edge of the numbers, accelerate vertically for 7
steps up field, run a post angle for 3 steps, plant your inside foot to
change direction to the outside and finish route on a flat angle. Get 3 STEPS
your head, shoulders and hips around quickly.

Locked route. Stays on vs. press.
VS. CLOUD – convert to a (Cover 2) 7 route.

Description:
Align in the middle of the numbers, accelerate on a direct line that
will take you 2 yards outside the hash 15 yards deep, plant your
inside foot to change directions and run a course that will take you
15 YDS
to the back pylon of the end zone, looking over your outside
shoulder for the ball.

Run it route; stays on vs. all coverages.

DART:
Description:
Align 2 yards outside the numbers with your outside foot back in
your stance. On the snap, accelerate 1 step vertically upfield and
finish the route on a 20 degree flat angle inside. This technique will
be used vs. any corner alignment. Cross the face on an inside
technique corner.

Description:
Take a direct angle aiming 18 yards deep 2 yards outside the hash. 18 YARDS
Punch and pivot. Come back to QB. Some leeway to find soft spot
behind the LBers.

Description: 20-22 Yds
Take an angle climbing to 12 yards over the ball. Then angle to 22

Description:

Description: Description:

Used in restricted formations with a 7 route (high-low the flat Controlled release off the LOS, then push for width slightly to the

Description:

Used to attack the inside curl defender.
Release through the wake of the inside 4 route runner.

Adjustments:
MAN – release through the wake of the inside 4 route runner and
attack the defender, speed cut away at 5 yds from his leverage (alert COVER 4
a lurk LB inside – break out). ZONE GREEN GRASS
ZONE – release through the wake of the inside 4 route runner and
MAN MAN
push to 5 yds depth and turn inside (cover 4 with green grass
outside, treat like man coverage and break out).
