Aeronautical Systems cluster is engaged in the development of state-of-the-art unmanned

Air Vehicles, Aero Gas Turbine Engine Technology, Airborne Surveillance Systems,
Parachutes, Decelerators and Lighter-than-Air Systems. The cluster comprises of four labs –
ADE, ADRDE, CABS, GTRE and CEMILAC which provides concurrent airworthiness
certification, support to indigenous development to certify upgrades and integration of
imported and indigenous systems.

DIRECTOR GENERAL-AERONAUTICAL SYSTEM (DRDO) invites application from Final Year

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
(I) ELIGIBILITY

(a) Final year Undergraduate/post graduate students

(b) Minimum 6.5 CGPA

i. 6th Sem marksheet for UG and 2nd Sem Marksheet for PG mandatory

ii. If 6th Sem (UG) and 2nd Sem (PG) results are yet to be declared during
submitting the application, Average Marks of 4th and 5th Sem for (UG) and
1st Sem result for PG will be considered during scrutiny of eligibility criteria.

iii. Subsequently, the marks sheet of 6th Sem (UG) and 2nd Sem (PG) to be
submitted at the time of joining, failing which internship will not be offered.

(c) The candidate must register for 6 months of Internship

(II) ONLINE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:

(a) Applicants should ensure that they satisfy the above eligibility criteria as on
closing date of advertisement i.e. 05th June 2026.
(b) Applicants are advised not to change their registered mobile number or
Email as vital information regarding their short listing/selection status will be
intimated through Email/SMS
 (c) The applicants are advised to fill in the application (as per format provided)
along with requisite documents.
(d) Application, guidelines/instructions can be downloaded from the link provided
and once the application is filled the same is required to be forwarded to the
respective lab email provided for further course of action.
(e) Applications having false/incomplete information will be rejected.

(III) NATIONALITY

(a) Only Indian Nationals can apply.

(b) Students studied/studying in countries outside India are not eligible to apply

(IV) STIPEND

Payment of a total of Rs. 30,000/- (Rupees thirty thousand only) in two installments
(Rs. 15,000 after 3 months and Rs. 15,000 after next 3 months) shall be made.
However, If the intern leaves the internship before completion of entire duration of 6
months, he/she will not be issued with the certificate.

(V) GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

(a) Candidates will be shortlisted by the respective labs on the basis of available
vacancies and information provided by the candidate in the applications.
(b) Selection of intern and the allotment of relevant labs shall be communicated on
his/her e-mail id.
(c) The topic/area of internship will be decided by the lab based on guide and the
Research facilities available at the lab.
(d) The selection as intern in no way guarantee a job in DRDO at a later date.
(e) The intake of internship is subject to availability in the lab and the selection is at
the sole discretion of the Lab.

(VI) CAUTION

(a) Misrepresentation or falsification of facts/information detected at any stage of

the selection process or instances of misconduct/misbehavior at any stage
during selection process shall result in cancellation of candidature without any
notice and no correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.

 LABS : UNDER DG AERO CLUSTER

ADE (Aeronautical Development Establishment), Bangalore

ADE was established in January 1959. Since its evolution, ADE has emerged as the major
aeronautical systems research laboratory of the DRDO involving all major aspect of
aeronautical research, design and development relevant to military aviation.

The lab is engaged in Design and Development of state-of-art air-launched expendable

target aircraft systems, Pilot training simulators, Re-usable rocket pods, Electro-optic
sensors for aircraft, Flight Control System (FCS), digital fly-by-wire FCS for the Light
Combat Aircraft, GFRP Composite radome technology, UAVs, Remotely Piloted Stike
Aircraft and Cruise Missiles.

ADRDE (Aerial Delivery Research & Development Establishment), Agra

ADRDE, Agra, an AS9100D certified pioneer R&D establishment under DRDO is engaged
in the design and development of Parachute Systems, Aerial Delivery Systems, Aircraft
Arrester Barrier Systems, Controlled Aerial Delivery System, Heavy Drop System, Lighter
than Air (LTA) systems, Recovery Systems and Floatation Systems, etc.

ADRDE developed wide range of products in Parachute Systems for various applications in
Armed Forces, including Personnel and Ejection Seat Parachutes, Recovery Parachutes,
Armament and Ammunition Delivery Systems, Brake Parachutes, and Heavy Drop
Systems. In addition to Parachute Systems, the lab has indigenously designed, developed,
installed & has been providing technical support for Aircraft Arrester Barrier Systems of two
variants in different capacities at various locations in Indian Air force. The lab has also
successfully participated in the Space Capsule Recovery Experiment (SRE) mission of
ISRO by designing the optimum parachute & flotation system and has also contributed in
developing parachute system for the prestigious Human Space Program (HSP) and now
involved in design & development of Decelerator system for the Project “Gaganyaan”.

This establishment has developed a state-of-the-art LTA, an aerostatic platform (operational

altitude of 1 km) for surveillance purposes, using COMINT / ELINT Payload in addition to
Tactical Aerostat, and a Mini Airship in Technology demonstration project Unmanned Small
Airship System. ADRDE possesses a strong base of Textile engineering & developing
various advance textile material to cater its project needs.

GTRE (Gas Turbine Research Establishment ), Bangalore

GTRE is one of the pioneering Research and Development Organizations under the
Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The main charter of the Establishment is to
design and develop gas-turbine engines for military applications, besides carrying out
advanced research work in the area of gas-turbine sub-systems. In addition, the
establishment is responsible for establishing the requisite computational, prototype
manufacturing and test facilities for components and full-scale engine development. The
Establishment has a strong team consisting of science and engineering background which
includes aeronautics, mechanical, electronics, computer science, materials science, applied
mathematics, etc. and support services.
CEMILAC (Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification)

1. CEMILAC is located at Bangalore, Karnataka and is responsible for Airworthiness

Certification of Military Airborne Stores and Continued Airworthiness of various systems and
subsystems on Military airborne platforms. The spectrum of products certified by CEMILAC
includes all types of systems and sub systems such as Aircraft, UAVs, Engines, Aircraft
accessories, Avionics LRUs (Line Replaceable Units), Bio medical equipment, air crew
personnel clothing and systems, Materials, Fuels, Oils and Software for Aircraft,
Helicopters, UAVs and Missiles.

2. CEMILAC gives certification coverage to cater to the projects handled by DRDO

Laboratories, DPSUs, CSIR Laboratories and Private Vendors for use by Indian Armed
Forces including the Indian Coast Guard.

3. Today CEMILAC has 18 Regional Centres for Military Airworthiness (RCMA) spread
across the nation to extend the airworthiness certification coverage.

4. DDPMAS (Design, Development, Production of Military Air Systems and Airborne
Stores) document which was first released in 1975 and later revised in 2002. Further
DDPMAS is revised as Under IMAP – 2023 (Indian Military Airworthiness Procedure) and
under the framework of IMAP – 2023 IMTAR – 21, Version 2.0 is the document governing
the Certification. IMTAR is Indian Military Technical Airworthiness Requirements is a
revised and updated document of DDPMAS – 2002.

CABS

Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS) Bengaluru, is one of the Premier Research Establishment
of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Govt. Of India
involved in design & development of indigenous Airborne Early warning and Control
Programme through the Airborne Surveillance Platform (ASP), Technology.

CABS invites applications for internship from young, dynamic & meritorious Indian nationals
with the zeal to contribute in defence research towards nation building.

 INSTRUCTIONS TO THE STUDENTS

(to be signed and submitted)

(I) GENERAL

1. The student trainee is a citizen of India.

2. Arrangement for accommodation, logistics is the responsibility of the students
themselves.
3. Student can apply for internship in multiple labs. (Separate applications to be
submitted to each lab in case multiple labs is selected).

(II) SECURITY

1. The student trainee will submit Police Verification before joining the training, as
follows: -

(a) The students will produce Police Clearance Certificate from the Local Police
authorities of the place of their Domicile/ Residence along with valid Photo ID having
address proof.
(b) The period of stay and address of the trainee will be mentioned on the police
clearance certificate.

2. Students will not be allowed to bring in any laptops, mobile phones, Smart Watch,
USB dongles, or any other storage media.

(III) STUDENT DISCIPLINE, TIMINGS AND ABSENTEEISM

1. The HoD/Principal of the Institute and the student agree to the following on
acceptance of an applicant as a trainee:

(a) During the project, the student will be present for the continuous period as per
the internship letter received from DRDO Lab
(b) Certificate from HOD that students will not be called to college expect for
examination during the period of Internship to be submitted compulsorily.
(c) If the student is irregular, the institute will be intimated. The student is liable for
termination from internship and no more students will be entertained from that
institute further.
(d) The student will have to be physically present for minimum 15 days in a
month.
(e) Scientist(s) will be earmarked for his/her complete internship period and will be
indicated as guide(s) on the project report.
 (f) Certificate will be issued to the student for the training period after the
completion of the entire period of 6 months.
(g) Student trainees have to abide to working hours and Security Rules, Guidelines
of the respective Lab
(h) The student shall submit progress report after 3 months and project report after
6 months or as per the directions of the guide.
(i) Clearance to be obtained and submitted to HRD on completion of training.
(j) Students should maintain non-objectionable and orderly conduct which
specifically includes making sure that they neither mention nor misrepresented
regarding any DRDO Lab on social media, besides their general overall
conduct.
(k) Any violation of the laid down conditions and guidelines by the student will lead
to immediate termination of the Internship of the student / entire student group
without any notice.
(l) Lab will not provide marks/grades/evaluation for the student.
