IMPORTANT NOTES & ANOMALIES
• Electron Configuration Anomalies (*): Chromium (Z=24) and Copper (Z=29) deviate from the expected Aufbau
principle filling order. Instead of completing the 4s subshell, an electron shifts to the 3d subshell to achieve a more
energetically stable half-filled (3d5) or fully-filled (3d10) state.
• Noble Gas Notation: Core electron shells are abbreviated using brackets enclosing the preceding noble gas symbol
([He], [Ne], [Ar]) to highlight the valence electron configuration clearly.
• Standard State: All phases/states listed are observed under standard ambient temperature and pressure conditions
(25°C, 1 atm).
