SECTION 1: TỔNG QUAN VỀ IELTS WRITING TASK 2

1. Những điều cần biết về Task 2

● Chiếm 2/3 điểm Writing.

● Viết ≥ 250 từ, làm trong 40 phút.

● Dùng văn phong trang trọng, học thuật.

● Chủ đề thường: giáo dục, y tế, môi trường, xã hội, dịch bệnh, v.v.

2. 4 tiêu chí chấm điểm Task 2

1. Hoàn thành nhiệm vụ (Task Response)

● Trả lời được các yêu cầu của bài?

● viết ít nhất 250 chữ?

2. Sự kết nối, mạch lạc (Coherence and Cohesion)

● Dùng từ nối phù hợp để kết nối câu/đoạn văn.

3. Các dạng bài trong Ielts Writing task 2

Dạng 1: Opinion Essay

Dạng này sẽ đưa ra ý kiến cá nhân về các topic quen thuộc trong xã hội và đưa ra những

dạng câu hỏi như:

• Do you agree or disagree?

• To what extent do you agree or disagree?

• Is this a positive or negative development?

Ví dụ: Some people think that all teenagers should be required to do unpaid work in their

free time to help the local community. They believe this would benefit both the individual

teenager and society as a whole. Do you agree or disagree?

Dạng 2: Discussion Essay

Dạng bài này đưa ra hai quan điểm và yêu cầu bạn phải phân tích cả hai quan điểm, bao

gồm cả quan điểm cá nhân.

Ví dụ: Some people think that sense of competition should be encouraged in children.

However, others consider cooperation more important to make them good adults.

Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Dạng 3: Advantages and Disadvantages Essay

Với dạng bài này, rất dễ nhận dạng khi câu hỏi được đưa ra khá rõ ràng: “What are the

advantages and disadvantages of …?”

Ví dụ:

• What are the advantages and disadvantages of children using mobile phones?

• What are the advantages and disadvantages of social networking in the workplace?

Dạng 4: Causes and Effects/Causes and Solutions/Problems and Solutions Essay

Ví dụ:
The internet has transformed the way information is shared and consumed, but it has

also created problems that did not exist before. What are the most serious problems

associated with the Internet and what solutions can you suggest?

Dạng 5: Two-Part Question Essay

Với đề bài này, bạn sẽ có 2 câu hỏi, và phải lần lượt trả lời hai câu hỏi.

Ví dụ: Many people decide on a career path early in their lives and keep to it. This, they

argue, leads to a more satisfying working life.

goals.

Elaborate Therefore, young people who play games too much

may think that they need to use violence to deal with
every challenge in their life.

Introductory Sentence There are two drawbacks of playing video games.

First Idea Firstly, video games can possibly encourage violence in

young children.

Supporting Detail Children who play a lot of violent video games may be

It is as important to teach children to protect the environment as it is to teach them to

read and write. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

A On the one hand, caring about the environment is important for any society. It is certainly
important to develop this habit early. For example, in Singapore, parents encourage their
children to pick up litter and not waste stuff. Children should also learn how to protect the
environment at school. During lessons at school, it is very important for teachers to discuss
topics like pollution and global warming and help students understand how they can reduce
the harmful effects on the environment.

B In conclusion, I believe that learning to take care of the environment should be part of our
education, but it is not as important as reading and writing abilities. In order to be
well-prepared for the future, young students should focus on learning to read or write at
school.

C In today’s world, there is an opinion that teaching children about environment protection is
as important as teaching them basic language skills. In my opinion, the two areas seem to be
so different, but, generally, I think reading and writing are more important.
D Reading and writing, on the other hand, are things that everyone needs. Most pupils start
to learn to read and write before they can think much about life. For example, students need
to read a lot over their school years in order to have enough knowledge and ideas to discuss
complex problems. Being able to express thoughts and feelings is very important if they want
to go to university or get a good job.
