5. This question booklet is divided into two sections- Section-A and Section-B.

who had great organizing capacity. He had a very sharp mind. Additionally, he had
great ability to select the right person for the right job. He was the Home Minister of

A river begins its journey high in the mountains It starts as a small stream of water,
often coming from melting snow or rain. As it flows down the hills it becomes bigger
and stronger. On its way, the river passes through forest, valleys and cities. It gives
water to trees, animal and people. Farmers use river water to grow crops. People use
it for drinking, cooking and cleaning. In cities, rivers are important for travel and
business. Boats and ships move on rivers to carry people and goods. Some people
even catch fish from rivers for food.
In many places, big dams are built on rivers. These dams store water and produce

river water mixes with salty sea water. Rivers are very useful in our lives. But sadly,

2- Read the passage carefully and answer the questions that following
Everybody was fast asleep but Sheetal was not feeling sleepy. She stepped out of the
bed and quietly went towards the kitchen to drink a glass of water. As she entered the
kitchen, Sheetal heard some noise. Sheetal hid behind the curtain and tried to see as
to who was in the kitchen. She was surprised to see the vegetables dancing and
laughing on the dining table. The juicy tomatoes were nodding their head with
happiness. Green lady’s fingers were holding the hands of peas and dancing. The big
pumpkin and the cabbage were rolling here and there in delight. The brinjals were
laughing and dancing with joy.
