ORIENTATION
The orientation was hosted by our seniors of I.T. department. It
was a perfectly planned orientation with every detail about L.D.C.E and
it was a good interactions with the seniors also. We had a healthy
conversation with them about our field as well as about the clubs. The
presentation was awesome. Even the professors were too friendly and I
was comfortable on having a conversation with them.
We all know that L.D.C.E is a ‘well known’ college but we don’t know
about its beginning and history of L.D.C.E. They gave every single
information about L.D.C.E like :-
1. Establishment of L.D.C.E.
2. Achievements of L.D.C.E.
3. Clubs of L.D.C.E.
4. Placements at L.D.C.E.
Firstly they started with the prayer. They gave their intro and showed
the message by our respected principle Dr. R.K. Gajjar. She
congratulated all the student for getting admission in L.D.C.E. as it was
very challenging to be in L.D.C.E. specially in the IT [Link]
HOD Dr. Hiteshi Diwanji gave us her introduction and congratulated
us. She gave the detailed information of the IT department and also
made us aware about our responsibility as a student. Her message
made us feel very proud. Following the message the told about various
things which are at L.D.C.E.
They talked about campus, canteen, hostel, etc in-short they gave us
the road-map of L.D.C.E. After this there was a short break in which
food and drinks were provided. After that they gave a brief info about
the clubs at L.D.C.E which were Sports club, Coders club, Robocon club,
Dance and singing club, Art club,Innovator club, etc.
At last the took us on a campus tour. The campus was quiet big, they
divided us in groups and every group had one senior with them. We
visited to the playground, canteen, library, and badminton court. It was
a great day at college. We got to know many things about our college
and we were excited to come to college. After the orientation program
we were having induction program for 15 days for self development.
UNIVERSAL HUMAN VALUES
Basic human values refer to those values which are at the core of being
human. The values which are
considered basic inherent values
in humans include truth,honesty,
loyalty, love, peace, etc. because
they bring out the fundamental
goodness of human beings and
society at large.
The very first lecture on the universal human value was taken by our
HOD. She started with the question what actually human values are!?
She gave us pretty good lecture on this topic. She said Creating and
STATING your values consciously can change the direction of your
[Link] she added “Your VALUES signal what is important to you.
They are emotional states that show you what is important, and what
you want to experience.”
The human values were taught by the reference from Ramayana and
Mahabharat. Indian philosophy expounds truth, to speak kindly and
softly and never utter unpalatable truth. Social, moral and spiritual
ethics encapsulates the above statement. The Ramayana teaches these
values in the simplest way. But, man has forgotten the message of the
Ramayana and is leading the life of a Ravana. Ravana did not
comprehend this principle of divinity.
Human values are the core values that make up our personality and
define how we act in life. These values are very important as they make
up who we are and are what guide us through life. The values that we
hold determine who we want to be as well as how we live our lives and
the decisions that we make on an everyday basis.
At last she told us about the importance of human values and instigate
us to have those human values which will be very helpful in our [Link]
importance of human values is that it provides an understanding of
what people find to be important in their lives. There are many different
aspects of human values. For example, integrity, morality, and
benevolence are all aspects of human values.
CREATIVE ART
Creativity is the ability to think about a task or a problem in a new or
different way, or the ability to use the imagination to generate new
ideas. Creativity enables you to solve complex problems or find
interesting ways to approach tasks. If you are creative, you look at
things from a unique perspective. You can find patterns and make
connections to find opportunities.
The lecture on creative art was all about how creative and unique your
thinking is.. In the first lecture we were given a task to draw anything
which has a deep meaning in it which led in a deep thinking. Everyone
was concentrating in their drawing. Someone gave message on the
nature, some gave message on human nature and some on creativity.
“Art is the elimination of unnecessary”
In the next lecture the faculty gave students the task to take a photo of
man, nature and human nature from the campus of L.D.C.E. We took
the photo and submitted it to ma’am. We also took a group photo with
the nature.
After that we were given a task of writing a para or a poem on any of
the photo we took on our phone.
I took a photo showing a building and some greenery. I wanted to
convey the message that nothing is beautiful without the nature.
I wrote a poem with the title:-
“THERE’S NO MEAN IF THERE’S NO GREEN”
If there’s no green,
The white seems black.
If there’s no green,
The future seems black.
If there’s no green,
Somewhere you’ve lack.
Think about the nature,
Not only for yourself.
Here the first line shows that the buildings
which are generally are of white colour
get more beautify with greenery and
without it they are black(meaningless)
The creative art lecture involved many things like playing a skit giving a
beautiful and a meaningful message. Everyone gave a brilliant skit play
with a great message. We got so many meaningful and helpful things
from all the creative art lectures.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Physical fitness is also required for some occupations. It is
also necessary for national life. Swami Vivekananda advised the youth
to play football instead of reading the Gita. Physical exercise is the only
way to maintain good health. But, we have to do it in a balanced way.
Boys and girls should participate in all kinds of sports. Yoga is very
important for maintaining good health. Health is an asset for both
individual and social life.
In all the sessions of physical activity we were all taken to ground where
seniors and we played together. These sessions helped a lot in creating
bonds with seniors. We played different games like badminton, flying
dish, cricket, kho etc. These sessions acted as a
refreshing activity for us. In those session when we were not able to go
to the ground due to rain, in those sessions we solved puzzles and riddles
together which acted as brain sharpening activity for us.
LITERARY
Literature enables people to see through the lenses of others, and
sometimes even inanimate objects; therefore, it becomes a looking
glass into the world as others view it. It is a journey that is inscribed in
pages and powered by the imagination of the reader.
"Literature is the foundation of life."
Literary mathematics is a relatively new field that explores the
intersection of mathematics and literature. It uses mathematical
concepts and techniques to analyze literary texts, and it also uses
literary techniques to communicate mathematical ideas.
One of the main goals of literary mathematics is to make mathematics
more accessible and engaging to a wider audience. By using literary
techniques, mathematicians can make their work more appealing to
people who are not traditionally interested in mathematics.
Literary mathematics can also be used to gain new insights into literary
texts. By applying mathematical concepts to literature, mathematicians
can uncover hidden patterns and structures that would otherwise be
invisible.
Here are some examples of how math and literature can be used
together:
• The novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by
Mark Haddon uses math to explore the mind of a young boy with
autism.
• The short story "The Library of Babel" by Jorge Luis Borges uses
mathematical concepts to create a fictional library that contains all
possible books.
• The poem "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost uses math to
explore the idea of choice and its consequences.
INNOVATION
In the first lecture we were enlighten how innovation can be done. It is
not as simple as thinking. We have to get the knowledge and the
wisdom for a proper and a successful vision about what we are
innovating. Innovation is a process by which a domain, a product, or a
service is renewed and brought up to date by applying new processes,
introducing new techniques, or establishing successful ideas to create
new value.
The next lecture was taken by suchi ma’am in which she divided he
whole class into groups and gave the task to do a advertisement of a
product and innovate something in that poduct. After that we were
given sometime to think about the product. We also have to present
the product or the innovation we thought of.
EXPERT LECTURE
The expert lecture was taken by the trainers from ‘Renaissance- a
new awakening’. They started with some general aptitude questions.
They were too tricky to solve, also there were some questions about the
basic maths used in day to day [Link] of the questions were of
permutation and combination while some from arithmetic progression.
It was very interesting lecture.
They not only gave us tips on basic grammar but also taught us how to
calculate squares of bigger numbers in an easy way.
Through this session we gained basic information of GRE, IELTS, SAT
and TOEFL.
PROFICIENCY MODULE
The lecture was about the basics of english and importance of
communication skills. Professor commenced the lecture by making us
solve few quiz questions on basic grammar like subject verb
agreement, tenses, pronouns etc. After this activity he taught us how to
introduce ourselves by using mining vocab, idioms and expressions on
the stage. This session was very interactive and helpful as it not only
imparted confidence in each one of us while speaking English but also
made us aware about the importance of english language during
placement interviews.
In the next session of proficiency module, we were taught the correct
usage of three basic tenses. He gave us an activity in which we had to
speak on anyone topic which were. The topics were:- My daily routine,
My first day at college, How I want to be in future. This session made us
all aware about using the correct tenses in daily routine in order to
make it more effective.
Communication is one of the important tools that aid us to connect
with people. Either you are a student or a working professional, good
communication is something that will connect you far ahead. Proper
communication can help you to solve a number of issues and resolve
problems.
VISIT TO MUSEUM
L.D. museum is full of beautiful and unique things. It has the best
sculpture, coin collection, ancient scripture etc.. There also a Gallery of
Coinage which includes Akbar’s Din-i-llahi coin, Adil Shah’s Larin and
many other contemporary collection and the list is just endless when
talking about the enriched monuments sculptures, coins, paintings and
many other things .This museum also had amazing coins and sculptures
which reflects creative skills and intelligence of our ancient sculptors.
After this activity we spent some time outside the museum which is full
of greenery and peace.
