SUMMER VACATION HOMEWORK

CLASS 6

SUBJECT: SCIENCE

Homework no 1:

• Chapter 1: Wonderful World of Science


• Write 5 natural things and 5 man-made things. Draw or paste pictures for each in
your activity notebook.
• Neat work and proper labelling required.

Home work no 2:

Draw and colour a balanced diet plate in your activity notebook.

• Include different food groups:


• Carbohydrates (rice, chapatti)
• Proteins (dal, eggs, pulses)
• Vitamins & Minerals (fruits, vegetables)
• Fats (butter, oil)
• Label each part clearly

Home work no 3 :

• Collect 5 different leaves from nearby plants

In Activity Notebook:

• Paste the leaves (or draw if not possible)


• Write for each:
• Name of plant (if known)
• Type: Herb / Shrub / Tree / Climber / Creeper
• One feature (size, shape, smell, etc.)

Homework no 4 :

In Activity Notebook:

• Draw a table with 3 columns:


• Herbivores
• Carnivores
• Omnivores
• Write at least 4 examples in each column
• Choose any one animal and write:
• What it eats
• Where it lives (habitat)

Homework no 5 :

Write any 5 food items and mention their source:

Plant source or Animal source

Draw or paste pictures for each in your activity notebook.

Home work no 6 :

• List any 8 objects from your surroundings


• Write the material used (wood, metal, plastic, glass, etc.)
• Mention one property (hard, soft, transparent, waterproof, etc.)
• Draw or paste pictures for each.

General Instructions

• Maintain a separate Science Activity Notebook


• Write neatly with proper headings
• Draw or paste pictures wherever required
• Submit on the first working day after holidays
