(lubrication).

- Penis: External organ for copulation.

2. Female Reproductive System:

- Ovaries: Produce ova and hormones (estrogen, progesterone).

- Fallopian Tubes: Infundibulum (fimbriae), Ampulla (fertilization site), Isthmus.

- Uterus: Layers - Perimetrium, Myometrium, Endometrium (implantation site).

- Vagina: Receives sperm; birth canal.

- External Genitalia: Includes vulva and clitoris.

3. Gametogenesis:

A. Spermatogenesis: Occurs in seminiferous tubules.

- Spermatogonia (2n) - Primary spermatocyte - Secondary spermatocyte - Spermatid -

Spermatozoa.

- Sertoli cells: Support spermatids. Leydig cells: Secrete testosterone.

5. Fertilization and Pregnancy:

- Fertilization: In fallopian tube (ampulla).

- Zygote - Morula - Blastocyst - Implantation in uterus.

- Placenta: Nutrient and gas exchange; secretes hCG, estrogen, progesterone.

6. Parturition:
