 Ladder needs to be attached with scaffolding for the safe access and egress.
 Ensure the ground is level, stable, and capable of supporting the scaffolding.
 Assemble the scaffolding following the manufacturer's instructions, ensuring all
components are securely connected.
 Prior to the commencement of work, a thorough inspection of the scaffolding should
be carried out to ensure its structural integrity and stability.
 Adequate training on the assembly, use, and dismantling of mobile scaffolding should
be provided to all workers involved.
 The work area should be cordoned off and clearly marked to prevent unauthorized
access.
 Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, safety harnesses, gloves, mask,
and safety shoes must be worn by all personnel

Shifting & unloading of Material

Shifting and unloading of Materials will be carried out manually:
 Enough manpower should be deployed for the shifting and unloading of materials by
calculating the standard lifting weight per person.
 Walkway to be free form obstructions, slippery surface and any kind of unwanted
materials.
 Proper illumination needs to be provided
 Trained, experienced and medically fit workforce to be deployed
 Proper posture to be maintained during lifting of material

 Clear Communication: Establish clear communication between the workers on the

scaffolding and those on the ground. Use hand signals or two-way radios to ensure
effective communication and coordination during the shifting or lifting process
 Fall Protection: Implement adequate fall protection measures, such as safety
harnesses, chain block or ropes, guardrails, Toe boards, out riggers, to prevent falls
 from the scaffolding. All workers should be aware of these measures and know how
to use them effectively.
 Load Limits: Adhere to the limited persons specified for the scaffolding and ensure
that the total weight of the materials being lifted does not exceed the standard
limit(25kg) per person. Overloading the scaffolding can compromise its stability and
pose a significant risk.
 Lifting should be carried out under proper supervision of competent person
(supervisor or engineer or safety professional)
 Secure Footing: Maintain a secure footing while working on the scaffolding. Ensure
that the planks are clean, dry, and free from any debris that could cause slipping or
tripping hazards.
 Train and assign competent workers: Only trained and qualified personnel should
operate the lifting equipment. They should be familiar with the proper use of the
equipment and have knowledge of safe lifting practices.
 Use proper lifting techniques: Train workers in proper lifting techniques, including
using their leg muscles and keeping their back straight while lifting. Avoid
overexertion and encourage teamwork when handling heavy or bulky items.
 Clear the area: Keep the work area clear of obstacles and unnecessary personnel
during the lifting operation. Area needs to be cordoned off before lifting the materials.
This helps reduce the risk of accidents and allows the workers to focus on the task at
hand.
 Appropriate PPE’s to be wear (Double lanyard safety harness, Hard hat, Non slippery
safety shoes, reflective jacket, Hand gloves, shoulder pad)

Other Safety precautions to be taken

 Stacking of marble should be kept in the marble stand and also should be tied
properly to prevent from falling.
 TPI should be done for all lifting accessories (chain block, web sling belt, etc.)
 Follow the specific precautions provided in the MSDS for adhesive & white cement
and should be submitted.
 Skin irritation: Some individuals may develop skin irritation or dermatitis due to
prolonged contact with white cement & Adhesive. These irritants can cause dryness,
redness, itching, or even more severe reactions. Wearing protective clothing, such as

gloves and long-sleeved shirts, can help minimize skin contact and reduce the risk of
irritation. Regular handwashing or use of barrier creams can also be beneficial.
 Respiratory hazards: Cladding work involves the use of white cement & cutting of
plywood which results to minute dust particles and can become airborne during the
mixing, cutting and application process. Inhalation of these particles can irritate the
respiratory system and cause respiratory issues. Prolonged exposure to this dust may
lead to conditions like occupational asthma or bronchitis. Wearing appropriate
respiratory protection, such as a dust mask or respirator, is essential to minimize this
hazard.
 Cutting works should be carried out on well-ventilated area as a precaution for dust
generation or vacuum machine should be used to collect dust during grinding and
cutting works. Dust mask or face mask and goggles must be used while carrying out
cutting & grinding works.
 Inspected and tagged power tools (cutting & grinding machine) should be used for
cutting and polishing works with appropriate guards, earthing and also should check
for the damage or defects of machine and chords. Ensure that cords are in good
condition and free from frays or cuts
 Power Source Safety: When working with electric power tools, make sure to use a
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlet or an appropriate power supply that
provides electrical protection. Avoid using tools near water or damp areas to prevent
electrical shocks.
 Eye Protection: When cutting, polishing or performing any other tasks that generate
dust, wear safety glasses or goggles to protect your eyes from debris. This is
particularly important when using power saws or rotary tools.
 Proper Handling and Technique: Follow the manufacturer's instructions for each
power tool and use the correct technique for the task at hand. Avoid overreaching or
working in awkward positions, as this can compromise your balance and control.
 Work area should be barricaded and safety signs should be provided.
 Debris and waste particles should be removed frequently and proper housekeeping
should be maintained. Wastage of marbles should be kept in designated area with
necessary barricading and safety signs.
 Wear Appropriate PPEs (Helmet, Reflective Jacket, Double lanyard safety harness,
