Tutorial 2

The document outlines a tutorial for an advanced digital communication course, presenting multiple problems related to noise processes and signal processing. It includes tasks such as finding power content, writing output processes in terms of components, and determining orthonormality of waveforms. The problems involve calculations and representations of signals in signal space diagrams.

|f |

10−8 (1 − 10 8) |f | < 108
Sn (f ) = (1)
0 |f | ≥ 108

This noise is passed through an ideal bandpass filter with a bandwidth of 2M Hz centered
at 50M Hz.
a) Find the power content of the output process.
b) Write the output process in terms of the in-phase and quadrature components, and find
the power in each component. Assume centre frequency, f0 = 50M Hz.
c) Find the power spectral density of the in-phase and quadrature components.

and is described by

|f |

2 ( 10 6 − 49) 49M Hz < |f | ≤ 51M Hz
|Hn (f )| = (3)
0 otherwise
