Scene 1 – School Campus / Afternoon

I sit at one of the tables on campus with papers and my phone scattered everywhere.

Assignments, group tasks, deadlines… everything feels overwhelming.

Everyone thinks being an achiever is easy.

But sometimes… it’s exhausting.

I grab my phone and message my friend.

Me (texting):
“Girl, let’s meet at the stage. It’s almost sunset.”

A minute later, her reply pops up.

Ella (text):
“Okies! I’m coming, girl.”

I smile faintly and scroll through some reels while waiting.

Suddenly, another message appears.

Ella (text):
“Girl, I’m really sorry. Something came up and I can’t meet you today. I promise I’ll
make it up to you next time.”

My smile fades.

Me (text reply):
“It’s okay. Let’s just meet next time.”

I lock my phone and put it away.

Scene 2 – School Stage / Sunset, Rising Action

I walk to the stage and sit down.

The sky looks beautiful.

Me (softly):
“Wow… the sunset is beautiful.”

I take a few pictures.

When I finish, I lower my phone and look around.

Students pass by, laughing, talking, living their own lives.

And somehow… I feel alone.

I look up at the sky, trying to stop my tears.

But I fail.

My chest tightens, and I quietly start crying.

Me (whispering):
“I’m so tired…”

I lower my head and continue crying.

First Interaction – The First Meeting

Suddenly, someone taps my shoulder.

I quickly wipe my tears and look up.

Me:
“Excuse me… who are you?”

Zeine (smiling faintly):

“Hi. I’m Zeine.”

I stare at him, confused.

Me:
“…Okay. And?”

Zeine:
“And… you’re crying.”

I look away.

Me:
“So? Why do you care?”

Zeine:
“Well… someone had to check if you were okay.”

Me (sighing):
“I’m fine.”

Zeine (playfully):
“People who say they’re fine usually aren’t.”

I roll my eyes.

Me:
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re nosy?”

He laughs softly.

Zeine:
“A lot actually.”

I grab my bag and stand up.

Zeine:
“Hey… where are you going?”

Me:
“Home.”

Zeine:
“Already?”

I start walking, and he jogs slightly to catch up.

Zeine (teasing):
“Oh… I get it.”

I turn around, annoyed.

Me:
“Get what?”

He grins.

Zeine:
“I’m probably too handsome. You got shy, so you decided to leave.”

I stare at him in disbelief.

Me:
“Excuse me?!”

He laughs.

Zeine:
“See? You talked to me. Come on… don’t leave. The sunset is beautiful. You’ll miss
it.”

I sigh and sit back down, putting my bag down.

Zeine (curious):
“So… why were you crying earlier?”

I mutter quietly.

Me:
“You’re annoying.”

He smiles softly, just staring at me.

Zeine (softly):
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”

We sit together in silence.

I secretly smile at him, but he doesn’t notice.

The sunset continues to glow warmly around us.

Second Interaction – Running on the Grounds

Another day, just before sunset.

Zeine and I are walking across the school grounds, laughing and sharing small jokes.

A bee suddenly appears near him.

My eyes widen.

I grab his arm gently.

Me (shouting, startled):
“Watch out!”

We start running across the grounds, laughing uncontrollably, the sunset painting
everything golden.

I stop running for a moment, catching my breath, but we both continue smiling,
laughter still bubbling between us.

The moment feels light, simple… perfect.

SCENE 3: Bestfriend Meeting A few

days later, I’m walking across campus toward the stage.

I see Ella waiting.

Ella (smiling):
“Hey! Sorry again for not coming last Monday. Did you still go to the stage?”

I nod.

Me (softly):
“Yeah…”

Ella (curious):
“Did you… like go home already?”

I shake my head.

Me (smiling faintly to myself):

“No… I waited for the sunset. Five more minutes, and it’ll rise.”

I hesitate for a moment… then ask.

Me (hesitant):
“Ella… do you know someone… a transferee guy named Zeine?”

Ella’s brows furrow.

Ella:
“Zeine? No… there’s no new transferee, Lella.”
I frown, confused.

Me (whispering to myself):
“Oh… my god, it’s almost sunset.”

Ella:
“Yeah… it’s almost sunset, Lella. So?”

Instead of answering, I turn abruptly and start running toward the stage.

Me (shouting back):
“Ella! Bye! I have to go!”

CLIMAX

I sit beside him, still catching my breath from running.

He looks at me and smiles.

Zeine:
“Were you running?”

Me (quickly):
“No… I didn’t.”

He just stares at me and smiles slightly.

Me:
“Are you really a student here in our school?”

He doesn’t answer and just looks at the sunset.

I feel annoyed.

Me (laughing nervously):
“Are you… a ghost?”

He suddenly looks at me.

Zeine (softly):
“Yes.”

My whole world feels like it turns upside down.

I laugh.
Me:
“You’re funny.”

Zeine:
“I’m not real, Lella. You made me.”

I stare at him in disbelief and stand up hurriedly.

Me:
“What do you mean?”

I show him the photo I took earlier.

His seat is empty in the picture.

Me (panicking):
“And in the picture… you’re not there.”

He looks back at the sunset.

Zeine (softly):
“Maybe… because I was never really there.”

Me:
“What do you mean?”

Zeine:
“You created me.”

He explains that when I felt overwhelmed and lonely, my mind created someone who
would always sit beside me.

Tears slip from my eyes.

Me (softly):
“So… you’re not real?”

Zeine (gently):
“I’m real to you.”

FALLING ACTION

The sun slowly begins to set behind us, painting the sky in soft orange and pink.

I stand there quietly, still trying to process everything he just said.

My hands tremble slightly.

Me (softly):
“So… all this time… you were never real?”

Zeine looks at me gently.

Zeine:
“I was real to you.”

I shake my head, still confused.

Me:
“But… we talked. We laughed. We ran across the campus.”

My voice cracks.

Me:
“How can that not be real?”

He smiles softly, but there’s sadness in his eyes.

Zeine:
“Because you needed someone.”

The wind blows lightly across the stage.

Zeine (continuing):
“When everything felt too heavy… when you felt alone… your mind created someone
who would listen.”

Tears slowly fall from my eyes.

Me:
“So… you were just in my head?”

He doesn’t answer immediately.

Instead, he looks at the sunset again.

Zeine (quietly):
“Maybe.”

I wipe my tears with the back of my hand.

Me:
“Then why now?”

My voice trembles.

Me:
“Why tell me the truth now?”
Zeine looks back at me.

Zeine:
“Because you’re stronger now.”

The sun lowers further behind the horizon.

For a moment, neither of us says anything.

The silence feels heavier than before.

I look at him again, afraid.

Me (softly):
“Are you… going to disappear?”

Zeine smiles gently.

He doesn’t answer.

But somehow… I already know.

Zeine quitely stands up.

Me: “wait…don’t leave”

Zeine look at me gently.

Zeine:”you don’t need me anymore lella.”

I quickly stand and tried to hold him but his figure slowly begins to fade.

Me: (panicking)” but you’re the only one who listened to me.”

Zeine smiled at me and replied “ you’re stronger than you think lella.”

He glances at the fading sunset. “ just look at the sunset and remember that in every
sunset, I will always be there with you.”

His figure slowly disappears with the last light of the sun. I stood in the stage, frozen,
staring at the empty space where he stood.

Me: voice over

“and that was the last time I saw zeine”

DENOUEMENT (Resolution)

Scene changes to another sunset day.

I sit at the same stage, watching the sky slowly turn orange.

I take a deep breath.

Me (softly):
“Hi… I hope you’re okay there, Zeine.”

I stare at the sunset, my eyes beginning to water.

Me (almost whispering):
“Zeine… I… miss you.”

My voice trembles.

Me (softly):
“I’ve always liked you… I just acted the opposite way.”

Tears begin streaming down my face.

Me:
“I like you.”

Suddenly, someone calls my name from a distance.

Ella (shouting):
“Lella!”

I quickly wipe my tears and turn to my right.

It’s Ella, my best friend, waving at me.

I stand up.

Before leaving, I glance at the sunset one last time.

Me (softly):
“Thank you, Zeine.”

I run toward Ella, trying to act like nothing happened.

The scene slowly fades.

Another Scene

The camera opens to another moment.

I’m holding my phone, recording a video of myself.

My eyes are slightly red, but I try to smile.

Me (looking at the camera):

“Hey, Zeine… how are you?”

I laugh softly, but it sounds a little broken.

Me:
“It’s funny… I know you probably won’t see this.”

I pause, looking down for a moment.

Me:
“But I still wanted to talk to you.”

I glance back at the camera.

Me (softly):
“School is still stressful… just like before.”

I smile faintly.

Me:
“But I think I’m doing better now.”

I look toward the sunset again.

Me:
“You were right.”

My voice cracks slightly.

Me:
“I’m stronger than I thought.”

Tears slowly roll down my cheeks again.

I quickly wipe them away and laugh softly.

Me:
“You know… I regret something.”

I pause.

Me (whispering):
“I never told you I liked you while you were still there.”

I look at the camera, eyes full of emotion.

Me:
“And now… you’re gone.”

The wind blows softly across the stage.

I take a deep breath.

Me (softly):
“But thank you… for staying with me when no one else did.”

I smile gently through the tears.

Me:
“You listened to me.”

Another tear falls.

Me:
“You made the sunsets feel less lonely.”

I look at the sky one more time.

Me (whispering):
“So wherever you are… I hope you know that you meant a lot to me.”

Tears fall again, and I wipe them away.

Me (softly):
“If this video ever gets seen for some reason… say what you feel.”

I look straight at the camera.

Me:
“If you like someone, tell them.”

Me:
“If you’re mad at someone, talk to them.”

Me:
“And if you want to thank someone… thank them.”

I take a small breath.

Me (quietly):
“Before it’s too late.”

I stop the recording.

The camera slowly pans toward the glowing sunset.

The sun slowly disappears beyond the horizon.

Fade to black.

Title appears:
