PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT
Fine Motor Skills and Gross Motor Skills: Helps in development of Fine muscles
and large muscles Pre-K, IK-1, IK-2.
Fine Motor Skills
1. Clay modeling:
Children learn crucial development skills through clay modeling including
strengthening fine motor skills improving hand-eye coordination, boosting
creativity and imagination, enhancing problem-solving developing emotional
regulation and self expression in a calming tactile way, preparing them for
tasks while writing strengthening finger and hand muscles through pinching, poking and rolling.
Aligning hand movement with visual targets. Using both hands together effectively. The feel
of kneading and shaping clay in calming and constructive.
Instructions:
1. Knead and roll the clay (Pre-K)
2. Clay caterpillar (IK-I, IK-II)
2. Glass and Sand activity: (IK-I & IK-II)
Children learn to integrate logic with creativity through balanced activities, developing
holistic skills like improved problem-solving emotional intelligence, enhanced memory better
coordinator and greater adaptability leading to more effective learning and confidence in
both academic are artistic areas.
Material required
1. Glasses
2. Sand
Instructions:
1. Arrange 7 glasses in a horizontal line on the table.
2. The last glass from left and right should be half filled with sand.
3. The student should stand in the middle where he should use two hands at a time to pour
the sand in the next glass.
4. Continue until he reach the middle glass.

3. Ice-cream alphabet: (Pre-K)
Children learn letter recognition fine motor skills, hand eye coordination
and creativity by making alphabets with ice cream sticks, turning abstract
letters into tangible, fun-to-build objects that solidify Pre writing skills.
Spatial awareness and even basic math concept like patterns. Making literacy
development active and playful.
Understanding how sticks fit together to form shapes improves spatial awareness and logical
thinking. Picking up, positioning and joining sticks strengthens hand and finger muscles.
Directing hand movements to match visual goals improves coordination.
Material required
Ice cream sticks or ear buds
Instructions:
The students should make the alphabets what they have learned.
Gross motor skills
1. Listen and Do - (Jump & Stop) : (Pre-K)
Children learn crucial physical, cognitive and social skills from jumping and
stopping including balance, coordination and motor planning building strong
muscles and bones improving cardiovascular health, boosting brain function for
focus and developing emotional regulation through energy release and social
inclusion in games mastering the jump and stop sequence is key for dynamic
balance and spatial awareness jumping strengthens leg, core and upper body
muscles while the impact builds bone density. It teaches dynamic balance and fine tunes
coordination between muscles and body position.
Instructions:
1. The child should do what teacher says.
2. The child should jump continuously until teacher says stop.
2. Jump on directions : (IK-I, IK-II)
Children learn crucial gross motor skills like balance, coordination and strength along
with directional awareness sequencing and following instructions by jumping on directions
which also boosts cognitive development spatial awareness and body control, making learning
fun and active. Its a holistic activity that builds physical fitness and mental agility develops
fundamental movement skills, leg strength and core stability. Improves awareness of the
body’s position in space.
Instructions:
1. Draw the directions on the floor.
2. The child should jump in the same direction.
2
3. Balls from the basket to the rings : (Pre-K, IK-I, IK-II)
Children learn crucial physical hand-eye coordination, motor skills, balance, strength,
cognitive (focus planning, problem-solving, spatial awareness, colors) and social emotional
skills through play, building a foundation for active learning and self-esteem. Involves large
muscle control for throwing, reaching and balancing developing arm, leg, core strength and
balance. Achieving goals, and seeing improvement builds self-esteem. Helps in learning to
follow the rules like understanding game structure and instructions.
Instructions:
1. Take a basket full of balls with different colours and arrange two rings at a distance
from the basket.
2. Assign two colours balls to the child.
3. The child should find those two colours from the basket and pick the balls and place
them in the rings.
4. Each ring with each colour.
5. For every child you can assign different colours to complete their task.
PERSONAL SOCIO-EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Games
1. Stack the glasses with blind fold
Blind folded glass/cup stacking enhances sensory awareness, trust and focus. By removing
sight, children rely on touch, spatial awareness, and verbal guidance, developing motor skills,
hand eye coordination (or rather hand-touch coordination), patience, and critical thinking.
Children learn to rely on their tactile sense (touch) to identify, feel, and position cups without
visual input, building spatial awareness. This activity builds fine motor control, precision in
stacking, and overall balance. It strengthens concentration and mental mapping abilities,
as they must imagine the structure in their mind without seeing it. Children learn patience,
problem solving and confidence when they succeed.
Material required:
Glasses/Cups, Paper, Cloth
Instructions:
1. Draw (2) circles on the floor or keep a hoop ring (2) and arrange 6 or 7 glasses in the
rings.
2. The students should be blind folded with the cloth and stack all the glasses one into
the other.
3
2. Listen and Do: (Clap, Boom, Snatch)
“Listen and Do: Clap, Boom, Snatch” is an interactive game that primarily develops listening
skills, focus, and quick reaction times in children. By following verbal commands (“boom”-pat
hands on the floor) with two hands clap hands (“clap”), grab an object (“snatch”), they improve
motor skills, memory, children practice self-control by waiting for the specific command and
reacting instantly, which helps sharpen focus. The game builds gross motor skills through
hand-clapping and patting, along with hand-eye coordination during the “snatch” action.
Children learn to listen carefully to spoken words (e.g., distinguishing between “boom” and
“clap”) and respond appropriately. Remembering the sequence of actions enhances cognitive
recall.
Material required:
Pen/ball and eraser etc.
Instructions:
1. Children should kneel down in 2 lines facing each other.
2. Keep any item of your choice in the middle of them.
3. This should be done with all the students at a time.
4. The student should act on teachers command.
5. When teacher says clap they should clap, when teachers says boom they should tap on
the floor with two hands.
6. After repeatedly saying clap and boom for a couple of times the student should be
ready to snatch the item which is placed in between them as soon as the teacher says.
Self help skills

CELEBRATIONS
Father’s Day
Fathers day honors fatherhood and the contribution of fathers to the society. The day
celebrates father figures, among them biological fathers, stepfathers, foster fathers,
grandfathers, and great-grandfathers. In the US, the day is observed on the third Sunday
of June every year. The Father’s day weekend is usually full of celebrations as families treat
their fathers to lunches and trips.
History of Father’s Day:
The idea of Father’s day can be traced back to 1910. It is believed that Mrs. Sanora Smart
Dodd is the brain behind this day. Sanora, along with her five siblings were brought up by
his father after their mother died in childbirth. His father neither remarried nor placed his
children under the care of others.
Because of this, Dodd was grateful to this father, William Jackson Smart-a civil war veteran,
and he wanted to honor him.
Her noble idea of Father’s day came about after hearing a sermon about Mother’s day my
Anna Jarvis at Central Methodist Episcopal Church. She later approached her pastor and
proposed there be a day honoring fathers, which would mirror Mothers day. Dodd proposed
to have Father’s day observed in June, which happened to be his father’s birthday month.
In 1913, Congress received a bill aiming at recognizing Father’s day. In 1916, Congress
rejected the move to have the day made official for fear that it would become just another
commercialized holiday. However, the campaign to have Father’s day recognized as a federal
holiday went on for many years.
In 1966, many men left their families to fight in World War II. It is during this time that the
fathers contribution to families was felt. President Lyndon B Johnson issued a proclamation
designating.
Fathers day USA to be observed on the third Sunday in June. In 1972, President Richard
Nixon signed it into law as a permanent national holiday. Today, different people across the
globe join hands to send inspiring Father’s day messages using the hashtag fathers day on
social media.
5
Father’s day or Father’s day?
Although the holiday honors all father figures, the day is known by its singular possessive,
that is, Father’s day.
Is Father’s day a Federal Holiday?
Father’s day is officially recognized in the US, but it is not a federal holiday. Government
offices, organizations, businesses, and banks remain open. The public transit system also
operates as usual. Hotels and restaurants tend to be busier as families treat their fathers
on this day.
How to Celebrate Father’s day?
Since Father’s Day is a comparatively modern holiday, different families celebrate it in
different ways. Traditionally, cards and masculine gifts are given out. Some of the Father’s
day gift ideas include sporting gear, gadgets and tools for household maintenance.
