MICROSOFT POWERPOINT PRACTICAL GUIDE

This guide is designed for teaching PowerPoint practically in a computer package class.

Opening PowerPoint
Click Start Menu → Search PowerPoint → Open Microsoft PowerPoint. Identify the ribbon, slides
pane and work area.

Creating a New Presentation


Open a blank presentation. Save it immediately using Ctrl+S. Give it a meaningful name.

Adding Slides
Use Home → New Slide. Practice adding 5 slides with different layouts.
Typing and Formatting Text
Insert titles and content. Change font size, color, bold, italic and alignment.

Inserting Pictures
Insert → Pictures. Add an image and resize, crop and move it around the slide.

Applying Design Themes


Go to Design tab and apply different themes and variants.

Transitions and Animations


Apply slide transitions and animate text or pictures.
Running Slide Show
Press F5 to start from beginning. Practice moving forward and backward between slides.

Practical Assignment
Create a 5-slide presentation about your school, business, or community and present it to the class.
