Basic Computer Parts


• Monitor – Displays information on the screen.
• Keyboard – Used to type letters, numbers and commands.
• Mouse – Used to point, click and select items.
• CPU (System Unit) – Processes data and controls the computer.
• RAM (Memory) – Stores data temporarily while working.
• Hard Drive / SSD – Stores files and programs permanently.
• Speakers – Play sound and audio.
• Printer – Prints text, images and documents.

Importance of Computer Education


• Improves knowledge of the digital world.
• Provides better career opportunities.
• Saves time and increases productivity.
• Helps people stay connected.
• Builds confidence and independence.

Input Devices: Keyboard, Mouse, Microphone, Scanner, Webcam.


Output Devices: Monitor, Printer, Speakers, Headphones, Projector.

Operating Systems (OS)


An OS manages computer hardware and software and allows users to run programs.
Examples: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android.
2. Steps to Find System Specification

1. Open Settings from the Start menu.


2. Click on System.
3. Select About from the left menu.
4. View device and Windows specifications such as processor, RAM, system type, edition and
version.
5. For more details, open Device Manager.
6. You have successfully found your system specifications.

File Management

File Management
File management means organizing files and folders so they can be easily found and used.

Steps to Do File Management


1. Open File Explorer (Windows + E).
2. Navigate to the required location (This PC, Documents, Downloads, Drives).
3. Create a new folder (Right-click → New → Folder).
4. Copy a file or folder (Copy → Paste).
5. Move a file or folder (Cut → Paste).
6. Rename a file or folder (Rename and type a new name).
7. Delete a file or folder (Delete key or right-click Delete).

Tips:
• Keep files in well-named folders.
• Do not delete important files.
• Organize files regularly.
