After close observation of the chart on top, we can see that 20% of Morrocan college
students browse social media for less than three hours, while 39,2% use it for a longer
duration which takes between three to six hours a day, also it shows that more than 40% of
students use social media for a duration that exceeds six hours daily.
The previous results reflect the average use of social media platforms among Morrocan
college students and its acquisition of all their interests and attention leads the majority to
spend too much time browsing it. There is only one explanation for that, it is the fact that
scrolling, chatting, and sharing thoughts with friends gives unlimited enjoyment that causes
them to lose all track of time using these platforms. The results mentioned before come to
confirm what MONSER Khalid had concluded in his study in which most people of the
studied sample that add up to 54% spent between three to five hours browsing through
social networks, in NORAM's study as well, the majority spend more than three hours on
their phones checking social media platforms which leads them to waste their precious time
neglecting necessary tasks and duties.

The table above shows different data about the use of Social Media Platforms among
Morrocan college students. According to the provided data, it shows that most Morrocan
students are keen to own more than one account on different platforms trying to benefit
from its features and advantages as much as possible but in varying degrees depending on
their personal needs and interests. These data can be explained and interpreted as follows:
In this study, Facebook comes in first place with a percentage of 99% of use among
Morrocan college students because of its ease of use and its diverse services that cannot be
found on other platforms such as chatting, sharing videos/photos with friends, or even
learning about trending topics.
In the second place, WhatsApp appeared with a percentage of more than 84% of use. Hence,
it is considered one of the most popular and most-used platforms among students. Because
of its usefulness in countless tasks, students depend on it in their educational process via
creating chat groups to share knowledge. It also facilitates document sharing between
students and their institutions such as Word documents, books, or even PPT subjects.
Regarding the third most popular platform in the studied sample, we find Telegram, which
has a percentage of 64% of use among Morrocan college students. Telegram users with
several tools to get to the targeted information, including Documents, MP3 Audio files,
videos, and compressed files ZIP.
With a percentage that exceeds 64%, Instagram ranked fourth for being used by youth in
general and college students especially. Instagram got famous for its support of sharing parts
of people's private life and for suiting and fulfilling the young ones' needs and egos by giving
them the confidence required to face the outside world as they think. All that with two
simple clicks to look beautiful and different.
