Installing Windows over Linux
Step 1: Download Microsoft's Media Creation Tool
On the Windows laptop, go to:
Microsoft Windows 10 Download Page
Click Download tool now.
Step 2: Run the Tool
1. Open the downloaded file ([Link]).
2. Accept the license terms.
3. Select: Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC
4. Click Next.
Step 3: Select Windows Version
Choose:
● Language
● Windows 10
● 64-bit (recommended for almost all modern PCs)
Click Next.
Step 4: Create the Bootable USB
1. Select: USB flash drive
2. Insert your USB drive.
3. Select the USB from the list.
4. Click Next.
The tool will download Windows and make the USB bootable automatically.
Step 5: Use the USB on Your Linux PC
1. Insert the USB into the Linux computer.
2. Restart it.
3. Open the boot menu (often F12, F9, Esc, or F11 depending on the manufacturer).
4. Select the USB drive.
5. Follow the Windows installation steps and delete the Linux partitions during setup.
