Installing Windows over Linux

Step 1: Download Microsoft's Media Creation Tool

On the Windows laptop, go to:

Microsoft Windows 10 Download Page

Click Download tool now.

Step 2: Run the Tool

1.​ Open the downloaded file ([Link]).


2.​ Accept the license terms.
3.​ Select: Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC
4.​ Click Next.

Step 3: Select Windows Version

Choose:

●​ Language
●​ Windows 10
●​ 64-bit (recommended for almost all modern PCs)

Click Next.

Step 4: Create the Bootable USB

1.​ Select: USB flash drive


2.​ Insert your USB drive.
3.​ Select the USB from the list.
4.​ Click Next.

The tool will download Windows and make the USB bootable automatically.

Step 5: Use the USB on Your Linux PC

1.​ Insert the USB into the Linux computer.


2.​ Restart it.
3.​ Open the boot menu (often F12, F9, Esc, or F11 depending on the manufacturer).
4.​ Select the USB drive.
5.​ Follow the Windows installation steps and delete the Linux partitions during setup.
