INDETERMINACIES
There are two primary types of indeterminacy in structural engineering:
[Link] Indeterminacy
[Link] Indeterminacy
Static Indeterminacy
If all the unknown forces in a structure cannot be determined by using the conditions or equations of
static equilibrium only, the structure is classified as a Statically Indeterminate Structure, also known
as a Hyper Static Structure or a Redundant Structure.
Breakdown of Static Indeterminacy (SI)
Static Indeterminacy is divided into two categories:
Internal Stability
If no part of a structure can move relative to any other part of the structure so as to bring about any
change in the geometrical configuration of the structure, it is said to be internally stable.
Conditions for Statibility ( Stability Check )
