Rocket Task

The document outlines the design requirements for a single-stage rocket using OpenRocket, focusing on maximizing apogee. Key constraints include using PLA material, a minimum internal diameter of 40mm, and specific dimensions for the motor casing and avionics bay. The design must ensure a minimum stability of 1.5 and does not require a recovery device.

ROCKET TASK

Design a rocket in OpenRocket, subject to the constraints given and available data. You aim is
to maximize the apogee (maximum altitude of the rocket).

1. Motor configuration of only 1, single stage is allowed.

2. Material of all components must be set to PLA.
3. No fillets or paint can be applied
4. The minimum internal diameter of the rocket body must be 40mm
5. a motor casing of internal dimensions same as those of motor must be present. The
motor must be FULLY placed within the body of the rocket
6. The motor must have a bulkhead above it.
7. The body must have space for the avionics bay, 150mm in length. It may be housed in
the nose cone. A mass of 150g must be given to simulate it.
8. Minimum stability of the rocket must be 1.5
9. No recovery device is required.

Judging parameters:

1. Maximum apogee within the given parameters.

2. Structural feasibility of the design.
3. Manufacturability s(assuming 3D printing).
