SECTION A (60MARKS)
1. a) The fifths of the pupils in a certain school come from city center. What is the percentage of
pupils who do not come from the city center?
b) Given that 𝑥 2 − 6𝑥 + 𝑀 is a perfect square, find the value of M

2. a) Round off 0.045689 into four significant figures

b) If 𝑡𝑎𝑛 𝐴 = 2.4, given that A is an acute angle; Find 𝑆𝑖𝑛 𝐴

3. a) If the median of 14, 18, (𝑥 + 2), (𝑥 + 4), 30, 34 are arranged in ascending order is 34. Find
the value of x.

b) Given 𝑎: 𝑏 = 1: 2 and 𝑏: 𝑐 = 3: 5, find 𝑎: 𝑏: 𝑐

4. a) Determine the arithmetic mean of 49 and 123

5. a) Joanis a form three student, was asked to find the inverse relation of the equation
