Unit.2 Raster Scan Graphics

This document covers basic concepts in raster scan graphics, focusing on line drawing algorithms such as the Digital Differential Analyzer (DDA) and Bresenham’s algorithm. It also discusses circle generation using symmetry and Bresenham’s algorithm, as well as polygon filling techniques like Flood Fill and Boundary Fill algorithms. Various video resources are provided for further understanding of these concepts.

Unit - II Raster Scan Graphics

Basic Concepts in Line Drawing

To draw a line and picture also on screen firstly we have to determine which pixels are to be
switched ON. Thus, the process of determining appropriate and approximate pixel for
representing picture is called as Rasterization.
When rasterization used to represent a continuous picture as a collection of discrete pixels, it
is called as Scan Conversion.
General criteria’s (requirements) applied for any Line Drawing Algorithm:

2.1 Line Drawing Algorithms: Digital Differential Analyzer algorithm, Bresenham’s

algorithm.
