Writing Task – Beginners (Evolve 1 – Units 1–3)

Choose TWO themes and write a short paragraph about each one of them,
connecting the topic to your own reality and using what we studied in class.

Option A – About Me

Write about yourself.

You may include:

your name and age;


where you are from;
things you like or don’t like;
your routine or hobbies.

Use: personal information, simple present, likes/dislikes.

EXAMPLE: Hello! My name is John and I am 19 years old. I live in Recife with
my family. I like music and soccer, but I don’t like waking up early. On weekdays,
I study English and work in the afternoon. On weekends, I usually go out with my
friends. My favorite hobby is playing video games.

Option B – My Family or Friends

Write about a person important to you.

You may include:

physical description;
personality;
hobbies or routines;
why this person is special.

Use: descriptions, simple present, adjectives.

Option C – My Home

Describe your house or apartment.

You may include:

rooms in your house;


your favorite place at home;
things there are in your home;
activities you do there.

Use: rooms and furniture vocabulary, there is/there are, prepositions.

Option D – My Daily Routine


Write about your daily activities.

You may include:

what time you wake up;


school/work/study activities;
free-time activities;
things you do every day.

Use: routines, simple present, time expressions.

Option E – My Neighborhood

Describe the place where you live.

You may include:

places near your house;


what you like there;
places you go on weekends;
your favorite place.

Use: places in town, there is/there are, prepositions of place.
