FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS

Article 8: Laws inconsistent with or in derogatory of fundamental rights to be


void.

Article 9: Security of Person:

No person shall be deprived of life or liberty save in accordance with the law.

Article 10. Safeguards against arbitrày arrest or detention.

Article 10 A: Right to fair trial.

Article 11: Prohibition of slavery & forced labour.

Article 12: Protection against retrospective punishment.

No law shall authorize the punishment of a person for an act or omission


that was not punishable by the law at the time of act.

Article 13. Protection againt double punishment.

Article 14: Inviolability of dignity of man.

(i) Dignity of man and the privacy of home shall be inviolable.


(ii) No person shall be subjected to torture for the purpose of extracting
evidence.

Article 15: Freedom of movement

Article 16: Freedom of assembly

Article 17: Freedom of association

Article 18: Freedom of trade, business or profession

Article 19: Freedom of speech

Article 19 A: Right of Information

Every citizen shall have the right to have access to information in all matters of
public importance.

Article 20: Freedom to profess religion and to manage religious institutions.

Article 21: Safeguard against taxation for purposes of any particular religion.

Article 22: Safeguards against religious education, other than his/ her religion.
No person attending any educational institution shall be required to receive
religious instructions, or take part in any religious ceremony, or attend religious
worship relates to a religion other than his / her own.

Article 23: Provision as to property.

Every citizen small have the right to acquire, hold and dispose of property
in any part of Pakistan.

Article 24: Protection of property rights.

No person shall be deprived of his property, save in accordance with law.

Article 25: Equality of citizens.

(i) All citizens are equal before law and are entitled to equal protection of
law.
(ii) There shall be no discrimination on the basis of sex.

Article 25 A: Right to Education.

The state shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the
age of five to sixteen years.

Article 26: No discrimination in respect of access to public places.

Article 27: Safeguard against discrimination in services

Article 28: Preservation of language, script & culture
