PERFORMANCE TASK
MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY
CREATING MUSIC VIDEO
Instructions:
1. Group Formation
 Students will be group into 2 groups. Each group will be responsible for
creating a section of the music video.
2. Song and Storyboarding
 Each group will choose a song or use a pre-selected one. Based on the
song's genre and theme (e.g, love, adventure, overcoming challenges),
they will create a storyboard detailing the scenes they plan to shoot,
including which camera shots, angles, and movements they will use for
each part of the song.
 Example: For a romantic scene, they might choose a close-up shot of
two people and use a slow pan to follow their movements, Encourage
students to consider how different shots and angles can emphasize the
lyrics, mood, and rhythm of the song.
3. Filming the Music Video
 Using the storyboard as a guide, each group will film their assigned
scenes. They must incorporate at least five different types of shots,
three camera angles, and two camera movements throughout
their section of the video.
 Students should pay attention to lighting, framing, and how the
movement of the camera enhances the storytelling. They can
experiment with props, costumes, and background elements to match
the theme of the song.
4. Editing the Video
 After filming, students will edit their footage using simple editing
software. They should synchronize their footage with the music and
add transitions between different shots.
 Encourage students to use techniques like slow motion, color
correction, or cropping to further enhance the visual experience and
match the music's energy.
5. Presentation and Reflection
 Once the videos are complete, each group will present their music
video to the class. They should briefly explain:
o The shots, angles, and movements they used and why. · How
their choices contributed to the mood and storytelling of the
video.
o After each presentation, the class will give feedback, focusing on
the effectiveness of the camera techniques in conveying the
emotion of the song
