DevOps Engineer Intern

What you’ll do
You'll help build and scale DevOps @ Fundwave. You won't be siloed into one
layer. You'll sit alongside engineers, and product managers, pick up real projects,
and see your work go live.
What we’re looking for
Experience
Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Prior technical internship experience in a real engineering environment
Technical
Moderate to high knowledge in Bash, Shell Scripting, Package managers, Vim
AWS services such as EC2/ECS, S3, Lambda, RDS using AWS command line
interface
Docker, Kubernetes / Docker Swarm
Moderate to high knowledge of continuous integration (Jenkins, Codeship,
Bitbucket pipelines etc) and continuous delivery
Databases, incremental backups, continuous backups
System and application monitoring and logging
Knowledge of networks, ports and security practices
Knowledge of security certificates, SSH, Public - private key encryption

Installing and configuring a wide variety of applications in a unix env
How you work
Outstanding interpersonal skills and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and know when to ask for help
Communicates clearly with engineers and non-engineers alike
Strong quantitative analytical thinking capabilities
Fluency in English. Fluency in other languages is a plus
Nice to have
Working knowledge of Microservices
Knowledge of Java frameworks such as Spring, JPA / Hibernate
ES6 and JS frameworks such as ReactJS, Angular 4+, Vue, LitElement
Experience with writing automated tests
Chef experience (writing complex cookbooks from scratch, custom providers,
custom resources, etc.)
Background in Accounting, Private Equity / Venture Capital / Investments,
SaaS
Experience in working closely with product managers or working with a
multicultural team
