Agni-V (Mission Divyastra)ICBM Uses MIRV (Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle).
One missile can hit multiple targets ~5,000 km away.
Pralay (Dec 2025)Quasi-BallisticIndia's first dedicated tactical missile for the "Integrated Rocket
Force." It can maneuver mid-air to avoid interceptors.
SMART SystemASW (Anti-Submarine)A missile that carries a torpedo. It drops the torpedo in the
water near a submarine, extending range from 20 km to 600+ km.
K-4 (SLBM)Submarine-LaunchedTested from INS Arighaat (Dec 2025). Gives India a true "Second
Strike" capability from underwater.
MIRV Technology (Agni-V)
The Concept: Instead of one large warhead, the missile carries 3–4 smaller ones.
Decoy Strategy: It can release "decoys" (fake warheads) to confuse enemy radar.
Propulsion: 3-stage solid fuel. Solid fuel is "ready-to-fire," unlike liquid fuel which takes hours to
load.
The "Quasi-Ballistic" Nature (Pralay)
The Trap: A standard ballistic missile follows a predictable parabola (easy to shoot down).
The Fix: Pralay follows a low-altitude trajectory and performs "3D maneuvers" in the terminal phase.
It is specifically designed to target high-value assets like S-400 batteries or airfields.
Ramjet (BrahMos): Uses the missile's forward motion to compress air. Works at Supersonic speeds
(Mach 2–3).
Scramjet (HSTDV/BrahMos-II): "Supersonic Combustion Ramjet." Air flows through at supersonic
speeds. Works at Hypersonic speeds (Mach 5+)
The First Export: India delivered the first batch of BrahMos to the Philippines in 2024–25. This makes
India a "provider" of security in the South China Sea.
Canister-Launch: Almost all new Indian missiles (Agni-P, Pralay) are canisterized. This means they are
stored in a sealed tube, making them "road-mobile" and weather-proof. You can't see them on
satellites easily
Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV): An outbreak in a West Bengal correctional home (7 deaths) has brought
attention to HSV-1 (oral) and HSV-2 (genital). It's treatable but not curable.
Nuclear Deal with Canada: Under PM Mark Carney’s visit, a uranium deal was discussed to support
India’s goal of reaching 100 GW nuclear capacity by 2047.
