GROUP 1: SCRIPT
Actors:
Leiza Claire Royo
John Mark Quinto
Kathlene Tibule
FADE IN:
1 CLASSROOM STAGE – NIGHT (SIMULATED) 1
The stage is dim. A piece of paper upstage displays a GROUP CHAT screen shot.
Four chairs are spaced apart across the stage. Each member sits under a small spotlight,
hunched over their phones.
A giant digital clock projection reads: 3:00 AM.
Kathlene stretches, exhausted but proud, and presses send.
Kathlene : Finally sent it. Our RRL draft is done. Let’s see what Joy thinks.
Across the stage, Joy sits upright, energized, scrolling.
Joy: Oh, wow! This is actually too good. I’ll mess with them a bit.
She grins playfully.
On the piece of paper glued in the board, her message appears as she reads it aloud
Joy (V.O.): Wow, your AI was fast and too meticulous. Are you using the Pro version?
She drops her phone, amused, and leans back confidently.
Leiza : “Pro version?” Is she serious right now? We stayed up until our eyes bled for this!
Leiza looks annoyed and crosses slightly toward John Mark.
Leiza: Did you see Joy’s reply? After all that work and she thinks we’re just using AI?
John Mark: Yeah, right? That was absurd!
John Mark slowly lowers their phone. Tension builds.
CUT TO:
2 CLASSROOM STAGE – MORNING 2
A corner of the stage lights up. Kathlene, Leiza, and John Mark huddle together. Chairs are
arranged like a classroom. Bags and notebooks are visible.
John Mark: Leader is so unbelievable. Just because she’s the leader, she thinks she can
accuse us of cheating?
Leiza: Absolutely! I used actual books from the library for my part! If she thinks it’s AI, why didn’t
she do it herself?
Kathlene: Exactly. She doesn’t trust us. She probably thinks we’re lazy and think that she’s
perfect.
Leiza: Ugh! Don’t reply to her. Let her stay in the “Seen” zone. Let’s see how her “Pro version”
helps her finish the rest of the paper.
They deliberately place their phones face down.
The group stands together, stiff and distant.
Joy enters cheerfully, holding her phone and a printed copy of the RRL.
Joy: Hey guys! Did you see my comment last night? Seriously, that RRL was—
Leiza: It was “meticulous,” right? Just like ChatGPT?
Joy pauses, confused.
Joy: Yeah! I mean, it was perfect and well-structured, I thought—
Kathlene: Joy, we didn’t use AI. If you don’t trust our work, just tell us directly. Don’t make it look
like a joke when it’s not. Have some empathy.
Silence. The weight lands.
Joy slowly lowers the printed paper.
Joy: Wait… no. You guys got it wrong. I was praising you. I meant it was so good it looked
professional. The “Pro version” thing was just a joke because you used the perfect sources and
sent it the day before the deadline that I gave.
Kathlene: Well, it didn’t sound like a joke. It sounded like you were calling us cheaters.
No emojis or explanation. Just a direct question about which version of AI we used.
Joy exhales deeply.
Joy: I’m so sorry. I totally see it now. I sent it while I was half-asleep. I forgot you can’t hear my
tone through a screen. I really did love the work, Kathlene
Kathlene: It’s okay. It just hurts because we really put in the effort.
The tension eases.
Joy picks up her phone.
Joy: Okay, let me fix this properly.
Joy (CONT’D): Guys, correction: Your work is amazing because you’re geniuses, not because
of AI. My bad!
Kathlene: It’s fine now. We already cleared it up. We forgive you. Sorry for misinterpreting you.
The group members check their phones. Small smiles appear.
