Part-I)
1. A man can reach a certain place in 30hours. If he reduces his speed by 1/15th, he goes 10km less in that time. Find his
speed per hour.
2. A policeman saw a thief from a distance of 300m and sstarted
tarted running towards him. If speed of policeman and thief are
13 km/h & 10 km/h respectively. Find the distance thief had run before getting caught.
3. A constable follows a thief who is 150m ahead of the constable. If the constable and the thief run at speeds of 8
km/hour and 7.5 km/hour respectively, the constable would catch the thief in how much time?
4. Two person P & Q start walking from A towards B. Distance between A & B is 60km. Speed of P is 6 km/h less than
that of Q. After reaching at B person Q returns immediately to A then person Q meets person P at the distance of 15
km from B. What is speed of P and Q?
5. Two person P & Q start walking from A towards B. Distance between A and B is 90 km. Speed of P is 26 km/h and
speed of Q is 46 km/h. Afterr reaching at B person Q returns immediately to A and on the way person Q meets person
P at the distance of x km from B. Find the value of x?
6. Speed of A and B is 8 km/h and 13 km/h respectively. They start moving in same direction. After 4 hours A doubles

speed and B decreases his speed by 1 km/h, both reached at decided location at same time. Find the duration of
journey.
7. A child while going to school reduces his speed to 4 / 5th of his actual speed | and reaches 18 minutes late. Find his
actual time.
8. In covering a distance of 45 km, Abhay takes 2 hours more than Sameer. If Abhay doubled his speed, then he would
have take 1 hour less than Sameer. Find the speed of Abhay and Sameer (in km/hr).
9. While travelling from office to home, Giri's car got some problem, so he took 16(2/3)% more time than the usual to
reach home. His speed in this case is what percent less than his usual speed?
10.. A person covers a certain distance with a certain speed. If he reduced his speed by 14(2/7)% then he will be b 5 min
late. Find the time taken by him to cover this distance now.
11.. A car travelling at an average speed of 72 km/hr takes 9 minutes to travel a certain distance. By how much should it
increase its speed (in km/hr) to travel the same distance in 8 min
minutes?
12.. Two cars A and B travel from one city to another city, at speeds of 60km/hr and 108km/hour respectively. If car B
takes 2 hours lesser time than car A for the journey, then what is the distance (in km) between the two cities?
13. A train covers a distance between station A and station B in 45 minutes. If the speed of the train is reduced by 5 km
per hour, then the same distance is covered in 48 minutes. The distance between stations A and B is?
14.. If a person reduces his speed by 20%, he takes 20 min to reach his destination. Find the time taken by the person (in
min) to reach his destination if he increases his speed by 14.28%.

18. At 7:00am. A person started travelling at the speed of 36 km/h. After he had travelled some distance, his car went
out of order and he had to stop. After resting for 35 minutes, he returned home on foot at a speed of 14 km/h and
reached home at 1 pm. Find the distance from his house at which his car broke down.
19. In covering a distance of 96 km, A takes 4 hours more than B. If A tripled his speed, then he would have take 2 hour
less than B. Find the speed of A and B (in km/hr).
20. Train A takes 45 minutes more than train B to travel a distance of 450km. Due to engine trouble speed of train B falls
by a quarter, so it takes 30 minutes more than Train A to complete the same journey? What is the speed of Train A
