Course reflection
At the beginning of this project, I honestly felt nervous about conducting a real experiment as
part of a group study. I thought the process would be very difficult and overwhelming.
However, throughout the project I learned how to take initiative within a group and
understood the importance of organizing teamwork and managing time effectively. Dividing
the tasks among group members made the process both more practical and more efficient for
us. For me, the most challenging part of the project was understanding PsychoPy and creating
the experiment itself. Since I had never used this program before, it initially felt confusing and
stressful. However, after successfully completing the experiment setup, seeing that I was
actually able to do it made me feel proud and more confident in my abilities. Another part that
I really enjoyed was conducting the experiment with participants. Watching people complete
a study that we had designed ourselves made the experience feel meaningful and rewarding. It
made me feel like we were doing something real and valuable rather than only learning theory
in class. If I had the chance to do this project again, I would definitely manage the deadlines
more carefully and avoid leaving the data collection and experiment implementation process
to a later stage. I realized that time management is one of the most important parts of group
work and research projects. Overall, this experience taught me not only how to use a
completely new experimental program, but also how to take responsibility within a group and
help coordinate a project. Although the process was stressful at times, I also felt proud of
what we accomplished. In the end, this project showed me that research can be both
challenging and enjoyable at the same time.
