Q1. Examine the role of village Patwari.


a) A Patwari is a person who keeps a record of the land owned by people.
b) It is a record that could prove how much and which land is owned by which person.
c) He is also responsible for the collection of land revenue from the village.
d) He keeps a record of crops grown in that area.
e) Keeping a track of changes done by farmers in their fields from time to time is also done by Patwari.

Q2. What is the work of a Tehsildar?


a) A Tehsildar has to hear the disputes.
b) He also supervises the work of the Patwari.
c) He ensures that records are properly kept and land revenue is collected.

Q3. Write a brief note on Hindu Succession Act, 2005.


a) Hindu Succession Act, 2005 brought females on the same level with males.
b) In the new law, sons, daughters and mothers have an equal share in the property.
c) The law applies equally throughout the country.

Q4. Who is SHO? What does he do?


a) Ans. SHO is the Station House Officer of an area.
b) He is responsible for maintenance of law and order in the area under the jurisdiction of his policestation.
c) He gets FIR filed in case of a complaint either by himself or through his constable.

Q5. What is ‘Khasra Record’?


Ans. The Khasra record of the Patwari gives you information regarding the map of all the fields and their areas, measurement,
who owns and what cultivators he employs, what crops, what sort of soil, what trees are on the land.
It identifies which plot of land is owned by whom.

Q6. What is the work of the police?


Ans. a) Police is there to help the people and maintain law and order in the country.
b) Every police station has an area that comes under its control.
c) All persons in that area can report cases or inform the police about any theft, accident, injury,fight, etc.
d) Police has to note the F.I.R (First information report).
e) It is the responsibility of the police of that station to enquire, to investigate and act on the cases within its area.
