which is POV. Are you ready to learn?

Here’s is our objective for today’s lesson:

At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

Question:
 If you and your friend watched the same movie, would
you tell it the same way.
The teacher will select 2-3 students who will answer the The selected student will answer the
question. question.
Student’s answer may vary.

Very Good! The answer could be yes or no, it depends on how each
person see and understand the movie. Because each storyteller
has different point of view.

2. Worked Example (Discussion)

Point of View (POV)

 is the angle or perspective from which a story is told.
 Uses different pronouns
POv refers to a person who is narrating or telling the story. It is
also important to know who is narrating or telling the story for us
to fully understand the story and know which side or perspective
we are hearing. The students will do the activity.

Types of POV:
First Person POV - Is the perspective of one character
who describe the action directly. Uses the word I, Me, My
and We.
The narrator is part of the story or the narrator is the main
character of the story.
Example:
 I am feeling nervous today.
 My watch was snatch.
 We are going to the park.
 I saw what gift they have prepared for me.

Second Person POV - Directly addresses the reader.

Uses the word You, Your.
The narrator talks to you or the story teller is directly talking to
you. It is less common to use in literature.
Example:
 You step onto the stage confidently.
 Your cake was delicious.

Third Person POV - Describing the action of the

characters within the story. Uses the word He, She, It,
They.
The narrator is outside the story.

Example:
 She walked nervously on the stage.
 They are eating strawberry.
No, Ma’am

Third Person Limited POV - Narrator only knows the

thoughts of one person.
Example:
 Maris looked out the window. She hoped it wouldn’t rain
today. She didn’t know that her friends were already
planning a surprise for her.

Third Person Omniscient POV - Narrator knows more

than the thoughts of one person.
Example:
 Maria looked out the window. Hoping it wouldn’t rain
today. Across the town, her friends laughed as they
prepared her surprise party, certain she would love it.

3. Lesson Activity
A. Raise Your Color Ticket!
Let’s have an another fun and interactive game.

and quickly raise the correct color ticket:
 Red for First Person POV
 Pink for Second Person POV
 Black for Third Person POV

Raise your Ticket!”

2. You will definitely love the new book your favorite
author released.
3. Suddenly a rain falls. They start singing and dancing
under the rain.

when she has free time.

front.

You did a great job, everyone! You answer each activity correctly.
I can see most of you understood our lesson. But for those who got
confused, don’t worry that is part of learning. Overall, I’m proud
so proud of you. Give yourselves a best actor or actress clap. Do
you know that?

or telling the story. Using different POV greatly influenced how Students answer may vary.
we experienced, perceived and understand the story.

2. Reflection on Learning
The teacher will ask a question to the student.
 Why do you think it’s important to know who is telling
the story?”

Always remember, stories can or may sound different

depending on who tells them. Because every person has
different understanding and perspective from the story heard,
told or watched. The point of view helps us see the world
through someone else’s eyes!
