Ethical computing refers to the responsible and moral use of computers,
digital devices, and information technology. In today’s world, computers
and the internet are used in schools, offices, businesses, hospitals, banks,
and even homes. With the rapid growth of technology, people can
communicate instantly, store large amounts of information, and access
knowledge from anywhere in the world. However, along with these
advantages come several ethical challenges such as cybercrime, data
theft, online harassment, and misuse of personal information. Ethical
computing teaches users to use technology responsibly, respectfully, and
legally.

The concept of ethical computing is important because digital

technology affects almost every aspect of human life. Ethical behavior in
computing helps maintain privacy, security, honesty, and fairness in the
online world. It also encourages users to protect data, respect intellectual
property, avoid spreading harmful content, and follow digital etiquette.
Understanding ethical computing is essential for students, professionals,

Cyberbullying is another growing ethical problem. Some people misuse
social media and online platforms to threaten, insult, or harass others.
Such behavior can cause emotional stress and mental health problems.

Hacking and cybercrime are also serious concerns. Hackers may break
into computer systems to steal data, spread viruses, or damage files.
Cybercriminals may conduct online fraud, phishing, and identity theft.

Plagiarism. Students and professionals sometimes copy information

from the internet without giving proper credit to the original author.
