My first counseling session was on 15th may 2026 with Madam Ritah Zawedde. During this
session, I presented my problem seeking guidance Madam Ritah listened actively. I went for the
first session feeling very anxious and debating on whether it was okay for me to open up about
my issues and also looking for ways to dodge answering some questions. However the counselor
was very welcoming in her mannerism and also tone that she used which enabled me to calm
down.
During the session, the counselor exhibited a high level of professionalism and interest in the
problem I brought before. She did not look down on what I brought before her as I thought
maybe it was too simple to require counseling. It was during the session when the counselor
started digging deeper that I realized that I had made the right choice to seek help.
By the end of the session, my attitude towards my problem and seeking a counselor’s help had
totally changed.
My second session was on 22nd May 2026, since I had gained some confidence in the last
session, I approached this session with a positive mindset. As before, the counselor used
different counseling skills like active listening, attending skills and communication. She also
kept an open posture which helped me relax during the session.
During this session, we delved deeper into what could be the cause of the problem and also the
origins and the impact on my life.
To conclude, the sessions were a wonderful experience which did not leave me the same as I
gained some more self- awareness through the unpacking process of the problem. I left both
sessions feeling lighter at heart and heard.
