LAW 311: BASIC SuCCESSION LAW

COURSE SYLLABUS:

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
It is a study of the laws governing inheritance and the transmission of

Book Three of the Civil Code, specifically Articles 774-1105, and would include
related provisions of the Faniily Code, Rules of Cout aiules 73-90) and special
laws.

REQURERENTS:
1. Students are expected to read the codal articles and related laws and cases
provided in the Course Outline and those assigned during classes.
2. The assigned cases should be read in their full text and students are
required to prepare a digest of the assigned cases to be subnritted at the
end of the course.
3. Recitation is conducted and graded every meeting and coaching is
prohibited.
4. Students are required to take the mid-term and fmal examinations and
falure to take the same without valid reason would result in a failing
grade.

METHODOLOGY:
The course will be conducted mainly through recitations, class
discussions, case analysis, quizzes and examinations.

GRADING SYSTEM:

NIDTERM GRADE: 50% CLASS STANDING DURING MIDTERM

+ 500/o MIDTERM EXAMINATIONS
TENTATIVE FINAL GRADE: 50% CLASS STANDING DURING FINAL PERIOD + 50%
FINAL EXAMINATION
FINAL GRADE: 50% TENTATIVE FINAL GRADE + 50% NIDTERM GRADE

Class standing consists of the quizzes, recitations, participation in discussions and activities
and case digests accomplished by each student.
