How to Use a Rice Cooker


A Tutorial Script for English Assignment — Grade 11

🎬 OPENING
[Introduction]
"Hello everyone! Welcome to our tutorial. My name is [Your Name], and
today I am going to show you how to use a rice cooker properly. This
tutorial will only take a few minutes, so pay close attention. Let's get
started!"

🛒 MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT


[Transition: "Before we begin, let me show you what you will need."]
"Here are the things you will need:"
 A rice cooker (with its inner pot and measuring cup)
 2 cups of white rice
 Water (according to the water line in the inner pot)
 A rice paddle or spatula

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 — Measure the Rice


"First, use the measuring cup that comes with your rice cooker to
measure 2 cups of white rice. Using the correct measuring cup is
important because the rice cooker's water lines are calibrated for it."
Step 2 — Wash the Rice
"Next, place the inner pot into the sink and add some water into it. Rinse
the rice by gently swirling it with your hand. Pour out the cloudy water
carefully. Repeat this 2 to 3 times until the water runs clear.
Step 3 — Add Water
"After washing, add clean water into the inner pot. Look at the water level
lines printed inside the pot. For 2 cups of rice, fill the water up to the
number 2 line. This ensures the correct rice-to-water ratio."
Step 4 — Place the Inner Pot into the Rice Cooker
"Then, carefully place the inner pot back into the rice cooker. Make sure
it sits flat and properly in the base. "
Step 5 — Close the Lid and Plug In
"Close the lid of the rice cooker. Then, plug the power cord into the
electrical outlet. You will see the indicator light turn on, which means the
rice cooker is ready to use."
Step 6 — Press the Cook Button
"Now, press the Cook button or switch the lever down to start cooking.
The rice cooker will automatically begin heating. “
Step 7 — Wait for It to Switch to Warm Mode
"After about 15 to 20 minutes, the rice cooker will automatically switch
from Cook mode to Warm mode. This means the rice is fully cooked.”
Step 8 — Fluff and Serve
"Finally, open the lid carefully. Use the rice paddle to gently fluff the rice
by folding it from the bottom up. Your rice is now perfectly cooked and
ready to serve. Enjoy your meal!"
