Technology/Master of Planning are given below-

3. Report dimension & Binding specifications:
The dimension of the thesis report should be in A4 size and must be hardbound with a
plastic jacket. It is suggested that the printing of the cover page should be in contrast to
the background colour of the cover page. The colour of the cover page should be same
 for a particular branch in an Institution.
4. Paper & Typingdimension
Milk White papers that do not deteriorate rapidly are to be used. The paper must be with
uniformly even edges. Photocopies should be on copy bond available at most
reproduction centers. The report should be typed on one side of the paper only. The
whole of the report (except the cover and title page) should be typed in Times New
Roman Font with a font size of 12, justified, and a line spacing of [Link] margin 3 cm,
Right margin 2 cm, top margin 2.5 cm and bottom margin 2.5 cm to be maintained. In
the case of mathematical expressions Equation editor is to be used. Each chapter should
start at a fresh page with a heading of the chapter with font size 32, Bold, Italic style.
5. Pagination
This Current format has applied heading styles (See Home tab for Styles) e.g. Heading 1
Style for Main Chapters and Heading 2 for the sub-headings of the chapters&so on
Heading 3 style for further addition of sub-sub-headings. To open the Navigation pane,
press Ctrl+F, or click View < Navigation Pane or Document Map in the lower
[Link] go directly into the following chapter just click on the heading or chapters
present in the navigation pane.
Note:The students are advised to strictly adhere to the format.
Each page must have a number designation, though numbers may be left off the title page
and pages of chapter headings if the student prefers. All pages must be numbered
consecutively as follows:
 Lower-case Roman numerals (i.e., i, ii, iii, iv, v, vi, etc.) are to be used for preliminary
pages. The numerals should appear at the right bottom of the page, approximately 1 cm
above the bottomedge.
 Arabic numerals (i.e., l, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc.) are used for the body of the thesis/project. The
numerals appear in the right bottom corner of the page, approximately 1 cm up from the
bottom edge and 1 cm in from the right edge.
 Appendices and references should be numbered consecutively with the rest of the thesis.
6. Caption of figure &tables
Caption of figures should be provided at the bottom of the diagram and caption of tables
should be provided at the top of the table. Captions should be bold Italicized and should
be at the center. Figure and table numbers should be in tune with the chapter numbers
(e.g. the first figure of chapter 1 should be numbered as Fig. 1.1, the first figure of
chapter 2 should be numbered as Fig. 2.1, and so on.)
7. References (Appendix –VII)
The Bibliography or List of References appears after the Body of the [Link] ensure
that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference [Link] references
by number(s) in line with the text.
8. GuardSheets
A blank white page (Preferably thick) must be placed at the beginning & end of thereport.
9. Table of Contents –
The format of the table of content is given in Appendix –V. The students are advised
to strictly adhere to the format. The format of the Table of Contents is self-generated. As
you add more headings, right-click on the table of contents and choose “Update Field” to
update the information in your table of contents. Then, choose the option “Update entire
table” to update the changes made in your [Link] go directly into the following chapter
just Ctrl+ left mouse click on the heading or chapters present in the table of content.

 Chapter-1 Introduction

Your introduction contains information about why you do the work. It should contain a short
description of the problem. If possible, what has already been done (literature). What is still
missing in the research, and how you are going to contribute to that field. So it should end
with an aim or goal. It could also include a hypothesis, if you are expecting something
specific to come out. The introduction section is usually about 1-3 page.

 Chapter – 2 Literature Review or Background Information:

The background information contains all information needed to understand your results. This
contains information about the ingredients that you use. The background of the methods that
you use. Start with the more general concepts and go into more detail from there. This chapter
involves the use of literature. Try to turn it into a logical story. Do not just put different
literature statements after each other (5-10 pages).

 Chapter -3Methodology or Materials and Methods

The chapter starts with materials. Name all materials and where they were bought, purchased,
received as a gift, etc. The methods contain all information about how you did the
experiments. This contains all the settings of the equipment as well: temperature, how long
you stirred, settings of the equipment. All information should be there, so someone else can
do redo your experiment. The material and method section is always written in the past.

 Chapter – 4 Results & Discussions

Since it is very difficult to separate results with discussion, they are often combined in one
chapter. This often also makes the flow of the story better. Results are often represented in
figures and tables. Not just show the raw data. The figures should be self-explanatory. In the
text, do not repeat the data from these tables and figures, but interpret the results. Be critical.
What have I measured. Did I do duplicates? What are the error margins? What do the results
tell me? How can I explain them? And what do I learn from it?.

In the results section, you should also compare your results with those in literature. What has
been done by others, what do they find? And is that similar to my results? At the end, your
results should be used to answer your aim/questions or hypothesis that you had at the
beginning of your thesis.

 Chapter – 5 Conclusion
This section should contain your most important findings. Start by mentioning your aim, so
people know why you did the work. Do not mention all the results again in detail, but
describe the results as an overview. You could end the conclusion what kind of implications
your results have (in terms of new product development or something. Or use in other field of
science). The conclusion is usually max. 1 page.

(All references should be cited in the text of the thesis)

References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if
necessary. The format of citation of references can be from any Scopus index journal
[Link] management applications such as Mendeley, Endnote, Zotero etc. for
easy citation of books, journals& websites should be preferred. Hyperlinksto cited journals,
books, or websites should be done with the reference list.
