INTEGRATED FIELD STUDY (FS 1 & 2) TOPIC OUTLINE

Course Description: This course integrates observation, participation, and teaching assistantship. It allows
pre-service teachers to verify the behavior of the learners in the actual classroom setting, analyze the
curriculum, and assist the cooperating teacher in the teaching-learning process.

I. Phase One: The Learner’s Development and Environment


Topic 1: The School as a Learning Environment
Analysis of the School’s Physical Structure and Facilities.
Evaluation of the School’s Learning Resource Center (LRC).
The impact of the physical environment on student morale and safety.
Topic 2: Learner Diversity and Characteristics
Profiling learners’ physical, social, emotional, and cognitive domains.
Observing individual differences (Gender, Equity, Disability, and Indigenous Groups).
Assistantship: Assisting in the preparation of a "Student Profile" or Learner Information
System (LIS) data.
Topic 3: Classroom Management and Psychological Climate
Analysis of Classroom Structure and Seating Arrangements.
Establishing Classroom Routines and Procedures.
Assistantship: Executing daily routines (e.g., checking attendance, leading the prayer, and
facilitating transitions).
II. Phase Two: The Teacher and the Curriculum
Topic 4: The School Curriculum and the Teacher
The Intended, Implemented, and Achieved Curriculum.
Alignment of Learning Competencies with the K-12 Curriculum Guide.
Assistantship: Mapping the week’s lesson to the DepEd Budget of Work (BOW).
Topic 5: Instructional Materials and ICT Integration
Selection and Preparation of Instructional Materials (Traditional vs. Digital).
Utilizing ICT in the Classroom (DepEd TV, LMS, and Productivity Tools).
Assistantship: Creating localized or contextualized PowerPoint presentations/visual aids.
Topic 6: The Cycle of Lesson Planning
Components of the Daily Lesson Log (DLL) and Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP).
