Entrepreneurship means starting your own business by turning your ideas into
something real. It’s when you see a problem or need, think of a solution, and work hard to
make it a business. There are a lot of things you need to consider when starting a business.
For example, you need to be a risk taker, communicator, leader, opportunity seeker,
proactive, innovator,and lastly decisive.
The data will be gathered using some basic entrepreneur interview questions, and
their responses will be treated with confidentiality and will be used for study purposes only.
Interview Questions
1. What motivated you to become an entrepreneur?
Entrepreneur#1 I was motivated by the desire for freedom, purpose, and growth.
Entrepreneur#2 When I'm doing business, I really think about it because it's more fun
than working. Doing business is because I'm the boss, I'm the one who will be
followed, and the growth of my business depends on me.
Entrepreneur#3 My family is the one who motivated me to start a business. I want to
have control over my time and income so I can support them better.
2. What do you think are your characteristics and competencies that made you a
successful entrepreneur?
Entrepreneur#1 I don't give up easily, even though there are challenges in health,
family responsibility, or business struggles, I still grew up.
Entrepreneur#2. For me, that's why I became a business minded person because I had
children when I was still young. I prefer to watch over them and see money for them.
So if you ask me what qualities I have that made me a successful entrepreneur, it's
being a good mother to my children.
Entrepreneur#3 I have discipline for the future of my family. I learn from my
mistakes, and those mistakes are what brought me to where I am today.
3. What do you think of being employed? Why you did not choose that path?
Entrepreneur#1 I think being employed is a valuable and respectable path. It provides
stability, structure, and a clear career direction. I wanted more freedom with my time,
more room for creativity, and more control over my growth and income.
Entrepreneur#2 Being an employee? Of course, being an employee means you have a
boss, you can't be late, you can't take a break, most of all, you don't control your time
and there are laws that you have to follow, so it's better to be business-minded,
besides me being the boss, I'm the one who gets followed in everything, I watch over
the kids, I'm good at what I do, I'm good at what I do.
Entrepreneur#3 Being employed gives steady pay, but your salary depends on others.
I chose to become an entrepreneur because you are the one who sets your own
direction and your own future.
Result and Conclusion
The entrepreneurs wanted to start their own business because they want freedom,
independence, and personal growth. They prefer being their own boss, enjoying their work,
and having control over their time and income. This was especially important for supporting
their families. Their success came from qualities like perseverance, responsibility, discipline,
and learning from mistakes. While they saw employment as stable, they did not choose that
path because it offered less control and more restrictions. Entrepreneurship, on the other
hand, allows them to set their own direction and future.
