COMMUNICATION METHODS:
In today's world, connected teams and organizations are the only way to
achieve greater things. Connections and relationships are built through
the exchange of ideas and information. Communication serves as a
valuable mechanism for building these connections and engagements
between people.
Communication is a very important skill and art. There are four ways we
communicate with others. Whatever communication method you choose,
it's important to have the right intention to connect with the other
person.
1. WRITTEN
Refers to printed or recorded materials such as plans, contracts,
memos, minutes, requirements analysis documents, design
documents, risk registers and other related documents. Used to
provide well-thought-out and well-planned details. Therefore, it is
easier to verify than verbal communication because everything that
is written cannot be changed immediately. You can also use it as a
reference material in the future.
Written communication can be time consuming, but is very
important in formal scenarios where approval is required and has
legal implications. Email has revolutionized written communication
so quickly that it has become the preferred mechanism for
exchanging detailed information in a flash.
2. VERBAL
It involves exchanging messages or information by using words
orally in face-to-face or telephone conversations. This is the most
common type of conversation as it paves the way for receiving
feedback immediately after receiving a message. It is also known to
be spontaneous. Listening carefully and thinking carefully before
speaking is essential in oral communication.
One must pay attention to the words and phrases that are said.
Spoken language is irreversible, so it is important to construct
phrases and sentences carefully.
