SEWING PATTERN & TUTORIAL

Short sleeve dress
 Trace the "short sleeve
dress" pieces onto cotton
fabric and cut them out.

Pin the side piece of the

top to the front part, with
the right sides facing each
other, as shown in the
photo.
 Do the same with the
second piece, as shown in
the photo.

Sew only the top edges of

the sleeves, as shown in
the photo.
Do the same with the lining
fabric.

Press the seams, as shown

in the photo.
 Do the same with the
lining.

Place the fabrics with the

right sides facing each
other and sew the edges of
the sleeves and neckline,
as shown in the photo.
 Trim the excess fabric
along the sewn edges. I
use zig-zag scissors.

This is what it looks like

after trimming.
Turn it inside out and press
the seams.

Fold it, press the seams

again, and pin it in place.
Sew the sides of the top.

Make a small cut around

the armpit area.
Prepare a piece of cotton
fabric measuring 32 x 6.5
cm.

Finish the sides and

bottom edge with a zigzag
stitch.
Press the bottom edge up
by about 5 mm.

Sew along the edge.

Press the side edges.

Sew them.
 Set the stitch length to
maximum. Sew along the
fabric 1 cm from the top
edge and then about 6 mm
below it, creating two
parallel stitch lines.

Pull on the two top threads

to create gathers and form
a ruffle.
 Even out the ruffles so
they are distributed evenly.

Adjust the ruffle so that it

fits the width of the top.
 Pin the ruffle to the top
with the right sides facing
each other, using plenty of
pins to hold it in place.

This is what it looks like

from the other side.
 Sew along the edge.

Trim the excess fabric.

Sew along the seams with a
zigzag stitch to prevent
fraying.

Pull out the threads you

used to create the ruffles.
 This is what it looks like
from the front.

Prepare two pieces of

hook-and-loop tape
(Velcro). I cut them from a
larger piece.
Optionally, use temporary
fabric adhesive to place
the Velcro in the correct
position.

Sew the Velcro pieces in

place.
This is how the finished
dress looks
Basic dress
Trace the patterns marked
as "Basic dress" and cut
about 5 mm from the
edge.

Sew as shown in the photo.

Do the same on the lining
fabric.

Pin the sleeve edges

together, as shown in the
photo, with the right sides
facing each other.
 Sew along the edges.

Fold the sleeves in half as

shown in the photo and pin
them in place.
This is what it looks like
from above.

Sew along the edge.

Trim the excess fabric — I
use zigzag scissors for this.

Make small snips in the

areas under the arms.
Match the neckline edges
with right sides facing each
other and pin in place.

Sew along the edge.

Trim the excess fabric.

Prepare a piece of fabric

measuring 32 x 6.5 cm.
 Finish the bottom and
sides of the fabric with a
zigzag stitch.

Press the bottom edge up

by about 0.5 cm.
 Sew.

Press the side edges.

 Sew.

Increase the stitch length

to the maximum and make
two parallel seams,
approximately 1 cm from
the edge and 0.6 cm
below.
Pull on the two top threads
to gather the fabric and
create ruffles.

Adjust the length of the

skirt to fit the top.
Prepare the top for sewing
the bottom by slightly
lifting the sleeves upwards.

Pin the ruffle to the front

of the top with right sides
together, using plenty of
pins to secure it.
Make sure the skirt ends
about 0.5 cm from the
edge of the top.

Sew along the edge.

 This is what it looks like
after sewing.

Remove the threads used

for gathering the fabric to
create the ruffles.
Align the edges together
and pin them in place.

Sew the edges together

and trim the corners.
Turn the sleeves right side
out.

Press the lining by about

0.5 cm.
 Pin.

Sew with an
invisible stitch.
Prepare the velcro strips, I
cut them from a larger roll
of velcro tape.

Optionally, use temporary

fabric adhesive to place
the velcro in the correct
position.
Place the velcro strips in
the correct position and
sew them in place.
Pants
 Trace the pattern for the
pants twice, once for each
piece, and cut about 0.5
cm from the marked lines.
At the top and bottom, cut
directly along the marked
lines.

Fold the fabric pieces

together with right sides
facing each other and sew
along the outer edge.
 Trim the excess fabric
using zigzag scissors.

Press the bottom of the

pant leg up by about 0.4
cm.
Press again by about 0.5
cm.

Sew along the pressed

edge.
 Place the two pant legs
with right sides together
and pin them in place as
shown in the photo.

Sew the upper part of the

pant leg and trim the
excess fabric.
 This is how it looks.

Align the seams in one

direction.
Press the edge by about
0.5 cm.

Press once more by about

0.9 cm.
Pin in place using sewing
pins.

Sew along the pinned

edge.
Prepare an elastic about 5
mm wide and a small
safety pin.

Thread the elastic through,

making sure to guide the
safety pin along the folded
seams.
Sew the elastic on one side
and trim the excess.

Measure approximately 12
cm.
Sew the second edge of
the elastic and trim any
excess.

Fold the pant legs right

sides together.
Sew the top of the pant
legs together.

Fold the pants and pin

them as shown in the
picture.
 Stitch along. Make a small
incision in the crotch of the
pants.
Blouse
 Trace the blouse pattern
and cut about 0.5 cm from
the edge as shown in the
picture.

Sew the pieces together as

shown in the picture.
 Do the same with the
fabric for the lining.

Place the fabrics with the

right sides together and
pin the cuffs of the blouse.
Sew the cuffs together.

Sew the cuffs together.

Fold the sleeves in half and
pin them as shown in the
picture.

Here's what it looks like

from the top.
 Sew.

Trim the excess fabric with

zigzag scissors.
Make small cuts as shown
in the picture.

Align the neckline with the

right sides together and
pin.
 Sew.

Cut off the excess fabric.

Fold the blouse and pin the
sides.

Cut the corners.

Turn the sleeves to the
right side.

Turn the sleeves to the

right side.
Fold the edges inward by
about 0.5 cm.

Pin.
Sew with an invisible stitch.

Prepare two pieces of

Velcro.
You can use temporary
fabric glue to place the
Velcro in the correct
positions.

Place the Velcro in the

correct positions.
Sew the Velcro in place.
Bow & Shoes & Collar
 Prepare a small piece of
cotton fabric, fold it in
half, and trace the bow
pattern on the wrong side
of the fabric.

Sew the fabric, leaving a

small section unsewn, as
shown in the picture.
Cut about 0.4 cm from the
line.

Turn it to the right side

and hand-sew the opening
with an invisible stitch.
Insert the needle with the
thread as shown in the
picture.

Tighten the thread.

 Wrap the thread around
several times and finish the
stitch.

You can sew a piece of

ribbon if you want the bow
to be a bow tie.
 Prepare a small piece of
felt.

Fold it in half and trace the

shoe pattern as shown in
the picture.
Trim about 0.4 cm from
the outline.

Turn it to the right side.

 Trace the collar pattern
onto a piece of felt and
faux fur fabric. Cut them
out.

Prepare two pieces of

string or ribbon.
Attach or pin the ribbon to
the collar as shown in the
picture. I use Prym
temporary adhesive.
Place the fabrics with the
right sides facing each
other.

Hand-sew around the

edges.
Hand-sew around the
edges.
