INTRODUCTION
OFF SCRIPT - Eunoia’s Flagship Improv Theatre Event
What happens when actors are stripped of scripts, rehearsals, and
preparation and left with nothing but imagination, instinct, and teamwork?
That is exactly where Off Script begins.
Off Script is Eunoia’s signature improv theatre competition, designed to
challenge participants to think, create, and perform completely in the
moment. Unlike conventional stage performances, there are no
memorized dialogues, planned scenes, or rehearsed storylines here. Every
team walks onto the stage unaware of what they are about to perform.
At the start of the round, teams are given a random theme, situation, or
unexpected prop. Within 1 hour, they must transform that idea into a fully
improvised short play performed live before the audience and judges.
From hilarious misunderstandings and absurd comedy to emotional
conflicts and dramatic twists, anything can unfold on stage — and that
unpredictability is what makes Off Script truly exciting.
The event is more than just acting; it is a test of creativity under pressure.
Participants must rely on quick thinking, communication, coordination,
storytelling, expression, and stage presence to keep the performance
engaging from beginning to end. Since nothing is pre-planned, every
reaction, every line, and every moment is created in real time, making
each performance unique and impossible to replicate.
Off Script encourages participants to embrace spontaneity, trust their
teammates, and turn unexpected situations into compelling
performances. It pushes performers out of their comfort zones and
rewards originality, adaptability, confidence, and the ability to captivate
an audience without preparation.
The event perfectly represents the spirit of Eunoia, a word that means
beautiful thinking. Off Script celebrates the purest form of creativity -
ideas born instantly, shaped collaboratively, and expressed fearlessly. It
highlights how powerful imagination can be when people are challenged
to think beyond limits and create something meaningful in the moment
itself.
In Off Script, there are no retakes, no second drafts, and no fixed
boundaries - just raw creativity unfolding live on stage.

RULES & REGULATIONS –
1. Time given will be 30 seconds for setup and 5 minutes for
performance. 30 seconds of grace time be provided to the teams.
2. Maximum registration allowed is 10 teams.
3. No individual participation is allowed.
4. Each team must consist of 5 - 7 members.
5. All teams must report at the venue 1 hour before the event begins
for attendance and briefing.
6. Prompts, situations, or props will be assigned on the spot by the
organizing team.
7. Teams are not allowed to use pre-written scripts, dialogues,
or rehearsed acts.
8. Participants must ensure that performances remain appropriate
and respectful; offensive or discriminatory content will lead to
disqualification.
9. Limited preparation time of 1 hour be given before the performance
begins.
10. Basic stage setup will be provided. No additional props must be
arranged by the teams themselves.
11. Teams will be judged on creativity, expression, spontaneity,
teamwork, audience engagement, and performance quality.
12. Participants are expected to maintain discipline and sportsmanship
throughout the event.
13. The decision of the judges and organizing committee will be final
and binding.
14. Use of any electronic device for writing scripts and for use of
creativity is strictly prohibited. If a team is found using electronic
devices they will be immediately disqualified.
15. Use of any unparliamentary language will result in immediate
disqualification of the team.
16. Strictly adhere to the dress code.
17. Participants must not reveal their school’s name for fair flow of the
event.
18. Participants must strictly use English Language and no other
vernacular language to be used.

Prop System –
1. Teams are not required to bring any props to the event.
2. Teams will have to make use of all the props provided by the event
organizers.
3. Teams will be given an idea of the props in the briefing time.
4. Points will be deducted if a team fails to make use of all the props
provided by the event organizers.
5. Props used are – Hat, Ball, Piece of cloth, Sticks and a Flower pot.

Award System –
1. Team trophies will be awarded to the teams securing 1 st place and
2nd place.
2. Participation certificates will be awarded to all the participants.

Venue- The B.W. Roberts Hall and the stilt area/ The Harding Hall and
adjacent classrooms for preparation
