My Story
Hi everyone, I am Jainendrajeet, a Third Year student at IIT Bombay CSE. There was a time when I scored just 54%
in my Class 10 Boards. I felt lost, confused, and honestly, I doubted myself a lot. But slowly, through consistency,
discipline, and proper strategy, I transformed my preparation journey and eventually made it to IIT Bombay CSE.
This PDF contains the exact strategies that helped me during my JEE journey.
Strategy 1: Never Go to Class Blank
Before every class, I used to study the topic for 20–30 minutes using YouTube or free online resources.
Why this helped:
• Concepts became easier to understand in class.
• I could focus on understanding instead of hearing things for the first time.
• My confidence increased gradually.
• Slowly, I started loving Mathematics.
Advice: Even a small amount of pre-study creates a huge difference over time.
Strategy 2: Always Have a Daily Goal
Every night before sleeping, I used to decide:
“No matter what happens tomorrow, I must complete these tasks.”
I divided goals subject-wise and topic-wise.
My daily goals included:
• Theory completion
• Question practice
• Revision
• Weak chapter improvement
• Mock test analysis
Big lesson: Perfection is not important. Consistency is.
Strategy 3: Solve PYQs After Every Chapter
This was probably the most important strategy of my preparation.
The moment I completed a chapter, I immediately started solving PYQs.
Why PYQs are important:
• You understand the exam pattern.
• You learn the mindset behind questions.
• You improve speed and confidence.
• You identify important concepts quickly.
Honestly, PYQs changed everything for me.
The Problems I Faced
Preparation was not smooth at all.
There were days when:
• Questions did not get solved.
• I doubted myself.
• I felt everyone was ahead of me.
• I studied for hours and still felt unproductive.

But one thing I realized:
Hard work beats everything.
Whenever I had doubts, I discussed them with my friends. Today, students have amazing tools like ChatGPT and
online resources. Use them to learn deeply, not to avoid hard work.
A Mistake I Learned From
During online exams, there was a phase where I searched answers on Google just to score better.
But honestly, it never felt right.
Deep inside, I knew:
“This is not how I will achieve my dream.”
That phase taught me self-discipline and honesty.
What This Journey Taught Me
From scoring 54% in boards to IIT Bombay CSE, this journey taught me one thing:
Your current situation does not decide your future.
One bad result, one failure, or one difficult phase can never define your potential.
If you are struggling right now, trust me — you are much closer to success than you think.
