1. How do you feel about studying at HUIT so far?
So far, I have been studying at Huit for one semester, and I feel that everything
here is very interesting. The new environment, new friends, and supportive,
experienced lecturers make me feel excited and motivated to explore and learn
more. Overall, I really enjoy studying here.
2. Would you describe yourself as a good student?
I wouldn’t say that I’m an excellent student, but I believe I’m quite hardworking. I
always try to go to school on time, listen carefully to lectures, and complete my
homework properly. Beside studying, I enjoy making friends and taking part in
class activities, which make me more confident. Overall, I really studying here and
I hope I can improve myself more in the future.
3. Which subject this semester is the most challenging for you?
The subject I find most challenging this semester is writing. My sentence writing
and vocabulary use are not very strong yet, so I often repeat ideas and make
grammatical mistakes. Because of that, writing is quite challenging for me.
4. Do you enjoy studying at school?
Of course, I really ejoy studying at school because everything here is very
interesting. I have the chance to meet many new people and gain new experiences,
which makes me feel excited. For example, there are fun activities, new friends,
and new lessons.
5. Is education compulsory in your country?
Education in my country is not strictly compulsory. Everyone has the right to go to
school and receive an education. The government encourages and supports people,
especially those from difficult backgrounds, so they can have access to education
likes others.
 6. When do most children start school in your country?
In my country, children usually start kingdergarten at the age of three.
Kingdergarten is where they bulid the foundation for learning how to speak, write,
and count, which prepares them for higher levels of education such as primary
school, secondary school, high school, and university.
7. Who is your favorite teacher at high school?
My favorite teacher in high school was Mr. Tho, my math teacher. He was cheerful
and patient, but also strict. Because of his teaching, I became more confident and
didn’t feel afraid of difficult math problems anymore
8. What subjects were you good at when you were in High School?
When I was in high school, the subject I was best at was Math. I even took part in a
math olympiad, although I didn’t win any prizes. I really like math because of its
challenges. Even though it can be difficult and sometimes gives me a headache,
thinking of a way to solve a problem. The feeling of solving a difficult problem is a
real sense of achievement.
9. Should all schooling be mixed or single -sex?
Both mixed schools and single-sex schools have their advantages and
disadvantages. Personally, I prefer mixed schools because they help students
interact nationally with the opposite sex and prepare them for real life. They also
help students develop better communications skills and reduce gender stereotypes.

Education is very important in people’s life. People need knowledge to understand
the world around them. Without education, people may lack independent thinking.
Education allows people to explore places and ideas we have never experienced

 The subject I enjoyed most at school was listening. I started learning it in
secondary school during English classes. The lessons were interesting
because we listened to real conversations and videos. Listening was different
from other subjects because it focused on real communication. I enjoyed it
because it helped me spoken English better and feel more confident.

Theme 2 – Psychology and sociology

PART 1
1. How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as a cheerful and sociable person. I enjoy making friends
and playing outdoor sports, although I’m afraid of swimming. In my studies, I may
not be an excellent student, but I’m quite hardworking. I try my best to learn and
improve myself, especially during my time at this school.

My friend and I always share many hobbies, such as playing sports, eating out, and
traveling together. We also have similar ways of talking and can understand each

busy. Being alone helps me reflect on myself, listen to music, or focus better on
my studies.

I enjoy being with others when I want to share my feelings or have fun. Spending
time with friends makes me feel happier and more energetic, especially when we
talk, eat out, or do activities together.

differently. Although some basic traits stay the same, behavior can change through
learning and personal effort.

Some good behavior students should have at school is respect and hard-working.
They should listen to teachers, follow school rules, finish their homework on time
and be polite to classmates.
9. What are some bad behaviors that students should not have at school?
Some bad behaviors students should avoid at school are being lazy and not paying
attention in class. Skipping homework or using phones during lessons can affect
their learning and disturb others. It also shows disrespect to teachers.
10. Which is the bigger influence on your personality – your family or your
friends?
I believe my family has a bigger influence on my personality than my friends.
They have been with me since I was young and taught me important values like
respect, responsibility, and honesty.

Describe a person you admire.

The person I admire most is my mother. She has always supported me and stayed
by my side. She is kind, patient, and very hardworking. She works hard for our
family and always encourages me to study well and improve myself. Whenever I
face difficulties, she gives me advice and motivates me. I admire her for her
unconditional love and strength, and she is my biggest inspiration.

Theme 3 – Work & Business

PART 1
1. What major are you studying at HUIT?
I am studying English at HUIT. I chose this major mainly because I want to
improve my communication skills and open up more job opportunities in the
future.
2. What would you like to become in the future? Why?
In the future, I would like to become a translator. I enjoy learning languages and
communicating with people from different cultures. This career also allows me to
use my language skills, work flexibly, and have more job opportunities.
3. Have you ever had a part -time job?
I’m a student and I also have a part-time job because it is flexible and helps me
earn extra money. I pack goods for a local store, which is quite easy and not
stressful.
4. What field would you like to work in?
I would like to work in a field related to international trade because it offers a
communication environment. It allows me to work with people from different
cultures, improve my language and communication skills.
5. Do you prefer working alone or with others? Why?
I prefer working with others because teamwork allows me to share ideas, learn
from different perspectives, and communicate better. Working in a group also
keeps me motivated.
6. What are some popular jobs in your country?
In Ho Chi Minh City, many popular jobs are related to business, services, jobs in
IT, online business, and education, especially English teaching, have also become
very popular because of the city’s fast development.
7. What qualities make a good employee?
I think a good employee should be responsible, hardworking, and willing to learn.
They need to manage their time well, communication and teamwork skills are also
important, as they help create a positive and productive working environment.
8. What do you think makes a good employer?
I think a good employer should be hardworking, patient, and dedicated. They
should be willing to guide and support their employees, especially when problems
arise.
9. How would you describe a helpful colleague?
A helpful colleague is someone who is supportive, cooperative, and willing to
share knowledge. They are patient when others need help and always ready to offer
advice or assistance.

My dream job is to become a translator. Being a translator would allow me to

skills and strong grammatical knowledge

No, I don’t really like watching TV programmes about science. I sometimes find
them a bit too technical and difficult to follow. I prefer learning science through
short videos or simple explanations, which are easier to understand and more
engaging for me.

Yes, there are many famous scientists in the world. For example, Albert Einstein is
well known for his theory of relativity, which changed modern physics. Marie
Curie is another great scientist who discovered radioactivity and made important
contributions to science. In addition, Isaac Newton is famous for his laws of
motion and gravity.
8. Do you like going to parks or green places?
Yes, I really like going to parks or green places. Being in nature helps me relax and
forget about stress from school or work. I enjoy walking, breathing fresh air, and
sometimes just sitting and enjoying the peaceful environment. Spending time in
green spaces also makes me feel happier and more energetic.

My favorite season is spring. It usually occurs from February to April. The weather
in spring is comfortably warm but not too hot. Everything feels fresh and lively,
and the air is clean and pleasant. During spring, I enjoy spending time outdoors,
seeing trees and flowers bloom, and going for walks in parks. I also love the Tết
holiday, when I can spend time with my family, enjoy traditional food, and receive
lucky money from adults. I love spring because of the combination of beautiful
weather and the festive atmosphere. It makes me feel happy and full of energy,
which is why spring is my absolute favorite season of the year.

Theme 5 – Physical World

PART 1
1. Where is your country?
My country is Vietnam, and I live in Ho Chi Minh City, which is the largest city in
the south. It is a very busy and dynamic city, known for its modern buildings,
bustling markets, and delicious street food. Ho Chi Minh City is also an important
economic and cultural center, attracting many tourists and businesses from around
the world.
2. Can you name some of the biggest cities in your country?
Yes, Vietnam has several big cities. The largest is Ho Chi Minh City in the south,
followed by Hanoi, the capital in the north. Other major cities include Da Nang in
central Vietnam, Hai Phong in the north, and Can Tho in the Mekong Delta. Each
city has its own unique culture, economy, and attractions.
3. What is the weather like in your country?
The weather in my country is quite diverse. It is mostly sunny, but we also have
many rainy days. The climate is warm in the South, while in the North, it is
generally cooler and has four distinct seasons. When the weather is nice and sunny,
people often take advantage of it to enjoy outdoor activities. For example, going to
the beach, swimming, or organizing a picnic or a BBQ party are all very popular
ways to relax and spend time with friends and family.

My country, Vietnam, has a very diverse and beautiful landscape. In the north,

peaceful atmosphere in Hanoi, which is perfect for walking around and enjoying
the scenery.
9. Can you tell me where your hometown is?
My hometown is Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu, which is located in the southern part of
Vietnam, not far from Ho Chi Minh City. What I like most about my hometown are
its beautiful beaches and the peaceful lifestyle. Visitors must try the fresh seafood,
as well as bánh khọt, which is a very popular local dish.

Yes, it is quite easy to get around my hometown, Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu. There are

My hometown is Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu, in the south of Vietnam, near Ho Chi Minh
City. It is famous for its beaches like Back Beach and Front Beach, and the Jesus
Christ Statue. People can swim, sunbathe, and enjoy local seafood and bánh khọt.
Since I was a child, the city has grown a lot with new roads, buildings, and more
tourists. I love it because of its beauty, peaceful life, and delicious food.

2. Describe a famous place in your country that you have visited.

A famous place I have visited in my country is the Jesus Christ Statue in Vũng
Tàu. It is a giant statue of Jesus with outstretched arms, standing on a hill
overlooking the city and the sea. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in
the area. I travelled there by car with my family. The journey was quite easy, and
the roads are well-connected from the city center to the statue. When you visit, you
can climb the stairs to the top of the hill and enjoy a panoramic view of the city
and the ocean. People also take photos, relax, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. I
would definitely like to visit this place again because it is both beautiful and
peaceful. I also want to take more photos and enjoy the scenery, especially at
sunrise or sunset, which I think is amazing.

I have visited the Jesus Christ Statue in Vũng Tàu. It is a giant statue on a hill
overlooking the city and the sea. I travelled there by car with my family. You can
climb to the top to enjoy the view, take photos, and relax in the peaceful
environment. I would love to visit again, especially at sunrise or sunset, because it
is really beautiful.
