ASSESSMENT 2: GROUP ASSIGNMENT

Instructions
 This is a group assignment; each group must have 3-10 students.

 Use the official cover page and include all group members' full names and student
numbers.

 Complete the assignment mainly in Microsoft Word and submit it as one integrated
document exported as a PDF.

 The Word document must include a 2026 logo watermark on every page excluding the
cover page, Table of Contents, and Reference page.

 The document must include a footer with one of your group member's student numbers
right-aligned on every page except the cover page, Table of Contents, Reference Page, and
Appendices.

 Follow this page numbering structure: no number on the cover page, roman numerals on
the Table of Contents page, and standard numbers for the rest of the document starting with
"1" at the centre of the page.

 Include an automatic Table of Contents.

 Use Arial, font size 12, line spacing 1.5, and justified alignment.

 All screenshots must be clear, relevant, and properly labelled.

 Only one group member must submit the final PDF on behalf of the group through the this

Assignment Task: Practical Scenario

Your group has been asked to create a professional Microsoft Word document and name it
"Managing Digital Documents for Work". This assignment assesses your ability to integrate
practical digital skills into one complete professional document.

Question 1: File and Folder Management (20 Marks)

This question should NOT be submitted separately; it must appear inside the final Microsoft Word
document.

You are required to:

 Create a folder structure for the assessment, naming the main (root) folder "Practical Group
Assessment - [Insert One Group Member's Student Number]".

 The folder structure must include at least the following subfolders: Drafts, Final Document,
Images, References, and Evidence.

 Use clear and consistent file names.

 Briefly explain the importance of file and folder management.

 Write a short explanation of how proper file and folder management helps people work
effectively.

 Insert one clear screenshot of your newly created folder structure into the final Microsoft
Word document.

Question 2: Microsoft Word Practical Document (60 Marks)

This is the main part of the assignment. Your final Word document must include the following
sections and features:

a) Document Features

 Official Group Assignment cover page.

 Automatic Table of Contents.

 Watermark background.

 Footer containing Page numbers (Centre Alignment) and "Student Number" (Right
Alignment).

b) Content Structure

 The document must include clearly labelled sections such as: Introduction, File and Folder
Management, Microsoft Word Skills and Features, Saving and Exporting Documents,
Conclusion, References, and Appendices (Evidence Screenshots for Question 3).
c) Practical Skills to Demonstrate

 Correct typing, editing, formatting, paragraph alignment, and spacing.

 Proper headings and subheadings.

 At least one properly formatted table of 4 columns (with headings) and 6 rows (with data).

 At least two relevant images.

 At least two working hyperlinks (when clicked, it must take a user to a different page/section
of the document).

d) Embedded Evidence

 The document must also include the screenshot and written explanations from Question 1.

 The document must include the saving/exporting evidence and explanations from Question
3.

Question 3: Saving, Exporting, and Submission Readiness (20 Marks)

This question should NOT be submitted separately; it must appear inside the final Microsoft Word
document under the applicable sections or appendices.

Students must include the following in the final Microsoft Word document:

 A brief explanation of the difference between saving and exporting a document.

 A short explanation of why PDF is suitable for submission on LMS.

 A short explanation of why the editable .docx file should still be kept by the group.

 Evidence (screenshot) that the document was saved as a Microsoft Word (.docx) file,
placed in the Appendices section.

 Evidence (screenshot) that the document was exported as a PDF, placed in the Appendices
section.
